Episode # 280 – Little Krishna kills Raakshasa AGHAASURA – A huge venomous snake!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We’ve witnessed in the previous episode how Little Krishna had granted the highest “Moksha” to a fruit vendor who had come knocking at His doors to sell some fruits. Little Krishna was tied with a rope by His mother, Yashoda for His mistake of stealing butter from other houses. Eventually as Nandagopa enters the house, he sees his little son being tied to a corner of the house, crying so pitifully! Immediately Nandagopa releases Little Krishna from the rope and this is the time the fruit vendor comes. She’s an old woman and the moment she sees Little Krishna, she understands who He really is! Immediately upon seeing the little child, she exclaimed that she doesn’t require anything else from Him, except for the highest “Moksha”. Bhagawan Krishna too understands the pure and innocent heart of this old woman and immediately fulfills her wish! The woman thus transcends to Vaikunta then and there!

We understand from this event that it is not important as to who we are, what are our educational qualifications, our richness, property possessions, etc. All what is important for Bhagawan is our pure and innocent “Bhakti” towards Him. If we’re making ourselves strong on this part, we do not need to worry about anything else in life. This old fruit vendor’s story is the perfect example of this point.

We can see here, how ardent devotees of Bhagawan Krishna realize His real nature and attain Moksha through His grace. This fruit vendor is just one such example. We’re going to witness many more such examples in the coming episodes. However, on the other hand, there are few people who do not understand the significance of Bhagawan Krishna too! Of course, there is a huge list of Raakshasas who fall into this category, but apart from these Raakshasas, there are few other people too, who unexpectedly and unwantedly fall into this list. This includes Bhagawan Bramha, Indra, etc. We’re going to witness shortly how Bhagawan Bramha tried to act “smart” by taking Little Krishna for granted, and how he was rightfully shown his place by Little Krishna! In subsequent episodes, we’re going to see how Indra too tried to wag his tail and was shown his place by Little Krishna.

But before that, we should see through one more important and an interesting event –  Little Krishna kills the Raakshasa by name “Aghaasura”. This Aghaasura was another such Raakshasa who was sent by Kamsa to kill Little Krishna. Readers might be remembering that when Little Krishna was a baby, Kamsa had sent Poothana and Sakataasura. Meanwhile, as these two Raakshasas were killed, Kamsa was planning his next strategy as to how to kill this Krishna somehow. He now sends Aghaasura. Let us see what conspired here.

Every day morning, Little Krishna, as He was the leader of His gang of children, would take all His friends with Him to the beautiful Vrindavan gardens, spend the entire day playing with them and then return back home in the evening. As this routine was happening, One day, Little Krishna and His friends set out for a walk from Gokula to Vrindaavan in the morning, quite as usual. But to all the kids’ surprise, there was a huge snake that was making its way towards them. This huge snake was none other than Aghaasura himself! Upon seeing the kids walking his way, Aghaasura thought of swallowing all of them together, including Little Krishna who was walking along with them. Hence, he stayed put there like a statue and opened his huge mouth.

As these kids see a huge snake with its mouth wide open, they were amused and surprised! The kids thus got together and discussed amongst each other that they’ve to somehow enter into the mouth of this snake and see what is there inside! Even today, if we happen to visit all these amusement parks or museums around the world, we might see some exhibits wherein we can enter inside through the mouth of that animal and come out through its tail, isn’t it? 😊 Similarly here too, these kids wanted to try entering inside the mouth of this huge snake and explore what is there inside! Accordingly, the kids started going inside one after the other! Aghaasura was waiting for this to happen and he was very happy! He was waiting for all the kids to enter inside, including Little Krishna. Anyways, we know that the sole agenda of Aghaasura is to kill Little Krishna. So he was waiting till Little Krishna enters the mouth. As it happened to be, Little Krishna was the last to enter and the moment He entered inside, the snake closed its mouth!

As the snake closes its mouth, it starts to release its poisonous enzymes inside, which slowly start suffocating the kids. One after the other start falling unconscious! Little Krishna realizes in a flash as to what was conspiring! He had to act fast before the kids fall dead. Moreover, Little Krishna realizes that this was not an ordinary snake, but a Raakshasa who had come in the form of this snake. He decides to take the Raakshasa on! Little Krishna thus uses His muscle power and slowly starts lifting the snake’s mouth! Aghaasura tries his best to withstand the pressure which Little Krishna’s hands were exerting, but at one stage, it was too much for him to handle! Little Krishna is not an ordinary kid by any means, and Aghaasura fails to realize this!

Thus, overpowered by Little Krishna’s divine hands, Aghaasura’s mouth got wide opened and with that, he breathes his last! With this, Kamsa’s third sabotage plan to kill Little Krishna gets foiled! As Aghaasura falls on the ground dead, the kids who had fallen unconscious with the poisonous fumes, automatically get up to normalcy as they start breathing fresh air. Little Krishna, their leader has saved all their lives! Upon realizing this, all the kids come together and celebrate their victory! Little Krishna is hailed as a great hero amongst the kids!

So for today, let us enjoy this part of the “Krishna Leela” and let us also join the kids in hailing our Little Krishna as our great hero! We shall wait till the next episode to witness how Bhagawan Brahma tried to meddle with Little Krishna and how was he taken care of duly! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 279 – Little Krishna grants the highest “MOKSHA” to an innocent fruit vendor!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We’re amidst yet another interesting phase of Bhagawan Krishna’s childhood days, wherein He is now the “gang leader” of the butter-stealers in Gokula town! As Little Krishna is growing up, His passion for butter keeps on increasing exponentially. Hence, His “Operation Butter” is becoming more and more comprehensive and robust as days progress. However, at times, Little Krishna gets caught red-handed by people of Gokula. But here, we should understand that Bhagawan Krishna is getting caught on purpose. He wants to give the people of Gokula, the feeling that Bhagawan can be held captive with ardent love and devotion! This is an important message for all of us as well – Not only for the residents of Gokula town. If we’re able to exhibit pure love and devotion with our innocent hearts towards Bhagawan, we can also catch Him red-handed into our fold! 😊

This is exactly what Yashoda is doing here. Annoyed with the overwhelming complaints about her mischievous son, Yashoda ties Little Krishna with a long rope to the “Ural”. As Little Krishna too knows that it’s afterall His mother who is trying to punish and mend His ways, this is also part of the motherly love and affection. We should understand here that when we talk about motherly love, it is not only pampering the child for all what he / she does. It also encompasses all the scoldings, punishments, etc. for the child’s wrongdoings. Here we should understand that Yashoda is punishing Little Krishna, not because of the attitude of seeking revenge or anything of that sort. By giving some punishments like this, she is only trying to mend the ways of her child, and this is the duty of every parent. As Bhagawan Krishna knows that Yashoda is only doing her duty thus, He gleefully accepts the punishment and starts crying! As Little Krishna starts sobbing pitifully, Yashoda’s heart melts with compassion but yet, she wants her Little Krishna to realize His mistake. Thus, she still makes up her mind with a heavy heart and moves into the kitchen to carry out some work. Little Krishna is sobbing continuously!

As this was happening, Nandagopa comes into the house! Till this time, he had gone out for his work and it is now the evening time when he comes back home after a long day’s work with the cattle. As Nandagopa enters the house, he sees his darling son being tied to a corner! Upon seeing this, he was shocked! He immediately rushes towards the crying Little Krishna and asks Him lovingly thus, “Oh my darling child! Why are you in this state? Who tied you like this with the rope? What mistake did you do?” Little Krishna pitifully replies thus, “Oh father! You know what? It is my mother who has tied me like this! I don’t know what mistake I did. Without knowing the mistake only I’m crying!” Upon hearing this answer from Little Krishna, Nandagopa immediately unties the rope and releases Him from the “Ural”!

By this time, there was an old woman who is knocking at their doors. This old woman is a fruit vendor and she’s a common visitor to their house. Upon seeing this woman with a variety of fruits in her basket, Nandagopa says to Little Krishna thus, “Oh Krishna! Please give this woman some rice grains from our kitchen and in turn, get how many ever fruits you want. You may happily consume all the fruits that she gives you!” As per His father’s instruction, Little Krishna runs into the kitchen, picks up a handful of rice grains and runs towards the old woman. Small and tender as His hands were, Little Krishna spills few of the rice grains as He runs towards the woman. As He meets and greets this old woman, He happily gives all the grains to her. Overwhelmed by the little child’s loving gesture, the old woman was reduced to tears! She holds Little Krishna’s hands and cries with joy of seeing Him. Little Krishna asks her thus, “Oh grandmother! Why are you crying? Is everything fine with you? Please give me some fruits in return to these rice grains!” The old woman replies to Little Krishna thus, “Oh Krishna! I shall give you whatever fruits you want. In fact, you yourself can take them. But before that, I have a wish that I want to ask you for!” As the old woman says thus, Little Krishna asks her, “What is your wish? Please ask me whatever you feel like!”

As Little Krishna asks thus, the old woman replies with tears in her eyes, “Oh Krishna! It is a great fortune that I’ve had your divine darshan today! I do not think I would wish for anything more in my life after seeing you! Thus, please grant me the highest Moksha and thus, take all the fruits that you want!” This was a brave wish that this old woman had asked for! Upon hearing this from the woman, Little Krishna was stunned for a moment! How did she ever know that He was Bhagawan Vishnu incarnated as this little Krishna? He asks her this question and she replies thus, “Oh Krishna! When you gave your two hands lovingly to me, I saw the “Shanka” and “Chakra” in both your palms! With this itself I realized that you’re not an ordinary child, but a divine incarnation! Hence, as your ardent devotee, I request you to grant me Moksha and bless me with all your love and compassion!”

Moved by the ardent devotion of this old woman, Bhagawan Krishna immediately says thus, “Oh grandmother! You have asked me for a wish, which is perhaps the easiest thing that I can grant for my ardent devotees! If you had asked me for money or whatever material, I would have had to search all over my place. But, since your innocent devotion has captured and captivated my heart, I’m immediately granting you the “green signal” to reach Vaikunta! There is no stopping you anywhere!”

Saying thus, Little Krishna grants the highest “Moksha” to this poor old fruit vendor! What do we understand from this episode? It is not important whether we are rich or poor, young or old, man or woman, human or animal, etc. All what is important for Bhagawan is our true and innocent heart full of love and devotion towards Him! This poor fruit vendor knew nothing else in this world apart from Little Krishna! She wasn’t an expert in Vedas, Upanishads, Puraanas, etc. She wasn’t a scholarly person by any means. But her pure devotion and love overpowered and captivated Bhagawan Krishna to such an extent that He immediately granted her the highest “Moksha”! This is the lesson that we should learn from today’s episode.

So for today, let us experience this wonderful gesture of this old woman towards Little Krishna and we shall wait till the next episode to witness whether we would have this amount of maturity of this old woman! We’re going to see next, how Bhagawan Bramha messed up with Little Krishna and how he was shown his place! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 278 – Yashoda ties Little Krishna with a long rope!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

In the previous episode, we had witnessed how Little Krishna thwarted Yashoda’s counter operation to His “Operation Butter”. As Yashoda ties the butter pot to the ceiling using a long rope (Uri), Little Krishna somehow climbs over the window sill, pulls the Uri and reduces the height of the butter pot so that His hands can reach it. However, small and tender as Little Krishna’s hands were, He was still unable to reach the pot. Hence, He takes a nearby stick and has a sway at the pot. As the stick hits the bottom of the pot with a big force, the pot breaks and the butter starts leaking through the broken portion. Seeing this, Little Krishna is all happy and He claps His hands in joy! The mission is accomplished! 😊 Now, as the butter flows through the hole in the pot, Little Krishna directly consumes the butter as it flows. As the butter flows, it not only flows directly into His mouth, but all over His face and body too! This was a beautiful sight wherein Little Krishna is naturally decorated with His favorite butter!

However, after this whole fiasco, Little Krishna would again go back to His little bed and act as if He’s fast asleep! This is exactly the time when Yashoda would return back home. Upon seeing Little Krishna fast asleep, she would heave a sigh of relief that the butter is safe today! However, when she turns her face upwards, she would see that the pot is broken, butter has leaked all over the floor of the house! Amidst all of this, Little Krishna’s body would be soaked with butter from all sides, including His mouth! 😊 With all these clues, she easily concludes that the culprit was none other than her darling son Himself! Child as He was, Yashoda doesn’t get angry much, but instead she only gets more and more compassionate. Knowing that her son has a special liking towards butter, she gives Him in abundance. 😊

As days pass by, however, Little Krishna’s “Operation Butter” was not only restricted to Yashoda’s house, but started spreading to all the other houses in Gokula! We’ve already witnessed couple of episodes back that Little Krishna used to go to every house, steal and consume butter from the pots, and come back quietly. But now, the “Operation Butter” has embarked some changes to it – Little Krishna is not alone now. He has a gang of friends around Him and this entire gang of children enters house after house on a rampage for butter! The gang is led by Little Krishna Himself! All they do is, to enter a house, locate the butter pot near the ceiling of the house, enter the house somehow by jumping through the window, form a pyramid and Little Krishna would climb over all of them, reach the pot and breaks it with the stick. As the butter oozes out, all of them have their due share of the butter! Being the gang leader, Little Krishna ensures that all His friends get their due share first, and only after that He consumes His share! We can see how compassionate He was towards His friends! 😊

As people started to know of this rampage, and that, it was Krishna who was behind all of it, they started to complain about Little Krishna to Yashoda! As the complaints started to increase day after day, Yashoda decides that she has had enough with her son! She starts scolding Him for His “crime” and tries her best to restrict Little Krishna’s movements! As this was happening day after day, Little Krishna wasn’t in a mood to relent!

One fine day, Little Krishna was caught red-handed while stealing butter at someone’s house. This time, all the people of Gokula came forward, took Him to His mother and had a huge complaint thus, “Oh Yashoda! Are you going to punish your son and mend His ways or not? Why are you so lenient towards Him? Who is answerable to all the butter that He and His gang had stolen? Take your son to task immediately, else we’ll have to do something for it!”

Upon hearing this from the neighbours, Yashoda became angry towards Little Krishna! She decides that this fellow has to be punished then and there! Hence, she makes a plan thus – She brings a long rope, pushes Little Krishna towards the wall wherein there was the apparatus with which the butter is extracted. This is commonly referred to as “Ural”. This “ural” was almost the height of Little Krishna! All of us know that Little Krishna was a handsome, short and a stout boy! His height is just equal to that of the “ural”. Yashoda decides to tie the little one to this “ural” with the long rope for some time, until He apologizes for His mistake!

As Little Krishna sees this, He was amused within Himself thus, “Oh! Who’s this Yashoda? She’s trying to tie me to this “ural”, not knowing the fact that I’m the one who is having the entire world under my nose! Let her try to tie me! Let us see what happens!” Thinking thus, as Yashoda brings the long rope towards Him, He purposefully grows a bit more in size! As she is tying Him, she finds that the rope doesn’t fit Him fully! She now brings another rope to augment this one. As she brings another rope, Little Krishna again grows in size! This rope too is not sufficient to tie Little Krishna to the “ural”! This continued for two-three more times! Yashoda isn’t going to relent though! As this goes on, Little Krishna thinks within Himself thus, “Oh! Afterall she is my mother isn’t it? Why should I show all my supremacy to her? Of course if Kamsa, Sishupala, etc. come towards me, there I can show all my strength and power! So it is not right on my part to show all this to my darling mother, who is so affectionate towards me! I would always like to see my mother Yashoda win over me, rather than me winning over her!”

Thinking thus, Little Krishna again reduces Himself back to His normal size and Yashoda ties Him to the “ural” successfully! As He had to create a scene here, Little Krishna’s face became so sad and eventually He starts crying! The little one is sobbing as He’s tied to the “ural”, and upon seeing this, Yashoda heaves a sigh of relief thus, “OH! At last my son is regretting for His mistake! Let Him be tied like this for some more time! Only then He would realize His mistake fully!” Thinking thus, Yashoda goes into the kitchen to do her domestic work, and Little Krishna is sobbing continuously and is pleading His mother to release Him from this!

What happens next? Is Yashoda’s heart going to melt in compassion upon seeing Little Krishna crying and pleading her this way? What is Little Krishna’s next “plan of action” going to be? Let’s wait till the next interesting episode to find out! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 277 – Little Krishna thwarts Yashoda’s counter-operation – The famous “URI-ADI”!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We’re amidst a beautiful experience wherein we’re witnessing how Little Krishna is unleashing His childish pranks one after the other! His “Operation-Butter” is of prime significance and Little Krishna is best known to all of us for stealing butter! As this operation continues during the coing days and months, Little Krishna is trying to “alter” His strategies and now, along with consuming the butter, He breaks the pot into pieces with a loud thudding sound. By this time, Little Krishna had made friendship with many children of His age and He instigates all of them into “Operation Butter”! Thus, not only does Little Krishna steal butter now – Many others are getting involved in this as well! This has now become a regular affair – These kids joining together as a team, going on a rampage house after house, stealing butter, consuming it and breaking the pots! As this “Operation-Butter” continues unabated for many days now, people are getting increasingly irritated with these kids.

Here we should note that Little Krishna is a very smart chap – When the whole team wreaks havoc at every house, the butter would be equally shared by all the kids. Little Krishna would ensure that He would distribute the butter to all His friends, and only then would He consume! Now how good is this? 😊 As such, it was a robbery – A daylight robbery! In that robbery too, it is amazing to see how the kids were united with each other without any infighting! The lesson here is that, for any task to become successful as a team, unity is very important. Whatever should be given to our team members, should be given without any hiccups. Else, we should be prepared to face the wrath from our team mates itself, isn’t it? This is a good leadership and management lesson that all of us can learn from this “Operation Butter” episode. In fact, especially when the operation is a “theft” operation, we would see robbers being united with each other even today! Else, this is why we see in some government departments today – How do corruption cases come to light? It is mainly because some people who were involved in the act weren’t duly “compensated” with the money that was looted! This is why we see criminals turning into approvers in a judicial case on corruption or whatever crime it might be! Thus, the lesson here is that, we should be united as we are performing a task that involves teamwork. Little Krishna is the perfect epitome of this lesson!

Moving on thus, as Little Krishna continues to wreak havoc in this way, Yashoda thinks of a plan to somehow thwart Little Krishna’s “Operation Butter”. She now ties the butter pot to a rope (Uri), pulls it upwards towards the roof and hangs it there. This is a counter operation to “Operation Butter” unleashed by Little Krishna. The primary agenda behind Yashoda’s counter operation is that, if the butter pot is out of Little Krishna’s reach, perhaps He might refrain from stealing butter! But is our Little Krishna a dumb fellow to get fooled by these techniques? He however acts like one though! 😊

So, when Yashoda stays at home, Little Krishna would act as if He’s fast asleep. He would be waiting for a chance for His mother to go out of the house for some work. The moment Yashoda steps out of the home, Little Krishna would start His mischief – He would immediately jump up from the bed, locate the butter pot, climb over the window sill, take a stick in His hand and beats the pot with the stick! Once the pot is beaten hard, the pot breaks and all the butter start oozing out of the pot. As the butter starts oozing out, He would directly make it fall into His mouth and consume it then and there! 😊 As Little Krishna consumes the butter, child as he is, the butter flows through His entire body as well! Thus, His cheeks, His chin, chest, hands, shoulders are all full of butter!

It is to be noted here that this very act, often referred to as the “Uri-Adi” occupies a prime status even today as the whole of our Bhaarata Desha (India) celebrates “Krishna Janmaashtami”! As a procedure, a pot full of butter would be tied at a certain height. Youngsters would then team up, climb over each other by forming a pyramid! One of the boys would have a stick in his hand. With the stick, he would climb over all of his friends, break the pot and the butter would ooze out on all of them! This is a very famous way to celebrate “Krishna Janmashtami” and this is very prominent in the northern parts of the country.

Moving on thus, as Little Krishna finishes His “Modified Operation Butter”, He again goes to His little bed and resumes His sleeping act! All of this finishes within the time Yashoda is not at home! As she comes back, she would see Little Krishna “fast asleep” on His little bed, but, the entire house would be full of butter overflowing from the broken pot! She would also find that it was none other than Little Krishna who was the culprit! 😊 He gets caught red-handed as His entire body would be fully coated with butter! Although Little Krishna knows that He would be caught for this act of His, He would be very happy to see His mother’s angry reactions! Afterall He’s Bhagawan Vishnu who has incarnated from Vaikunta, isn’t it? If He wants to escape untouched, He could have easily done that. But the very purpose of His incarnation as a baby is to play pranks! 😊 Hence, Little Krishna doesn’t mind getting caught by His mother repeatedly for His mischief!

Now what does Yashoda do to keep a check on her “Uncontrollable son”? She has to now plan another strategy, as this one is easily thwarted! What is that new strategy of Yashoda now? Let’s wait till the next episode to find out! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 276 – Why is Little Krishna “breaking the pot” after stealing butter? A deeper insight!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We’ve witnessed in the previous episode, the beauty of Little Krishna stealing butter from every house in Gokula. He takes turns, zeroes down on one house per day, executes His “Operation Butter” and makes everyone feel the awe of His mischievous acts! Of course, sometimes He gets caught red-handed during His operation, but somehow with His smartness and “innocence” that He displays in His face, people pour out their love and compassion to the little one, rather than getting angry on Him! Even if one or two women go and complain to Yashoda about Little Krishna, they feel bad for it and after few days, they themselves request Yashoda to send Little Krishna to their home! The people of Gokula are thus relishing every single moment that they’re getting with Little Krishna! Of course, this is the highest level of opportunity to be amidst Bhagawan in such a lovely form isn’t it?

In fact, as many people read through the various “Krishna Leelas”, all of them would shed tears of joy and ardent devotion. This is how Bhagawan Krishna makes sure that all of us fall into the highest “Bhakti-Maarga” (Path of Devotion). Had these “Charithras” not been there in this “Shrimad Bhaagawatha Puraana”, and if we’ve to just go by the Vedas and Upanishads that Bhagawan is an embodiment of the entire nature including the five elements of air, water, sky, soil and wind, who on this earth is going to relate Bhagawan with all of these today and practice Bhakti? It might have been possible in the previous “Yugas”, but for people like us in this “Kali Yuga”, we do not have that much amount of maturity to imagine Bhagawan in the form of wind and water to practice Bhakti! Of course, I’m reiterating the point that the Vedas are not lying. Whatever the Vedas are saying are 100% trueBhagawan is an embodiment of all the “Lokhas” put together. But for our minds to imagine Bhagawan, we would not be able to do so until and unless Bhagawan reduces Himself to something that our minds would be able to relate.

Even in our daily lives for instance, if we’ve to lead an organization as the CEO, people say that we should have adequate work experience on the ground, isn’t it? Why is it so? It is because, only if a person can understand and relate what happens on the ground, will he / she be able to successfully lead a team of people who are actually working on the ground. Thus we can see here that we would be able to relate ourselves to something only if we have some sort of a prior experience with it in the past, and something that we are familiar with in the present day. Similarly here too, although Bhagawan is an embodiment of all “Lokhas” put together, only if we can see Him as a small child playing around and doing mischief, the “Bhakti” within our hearts would grow. Moreover, since we often see and be with children many a times in our life, imagining Bhagawan Krishna in the form of a little child gives lot of relevance to what we are familiar with, isn’t it? This is the reason why Bhagwan Vishnu decided to give us this divine experience. Hence, by reading each and every instance of Bhagawan Krishna’s childhood days, our hearts should melt with ardent devotion (Bhakti), which would automatically take us towards spiritual growth. This is the important message from Little Krishna’s divine “Leelas”.

We’ve also discussed in the previous episode, the deeper meaning behind Little Krishna stealing butter. As we might know, butter is the purest form of milk and Bhagawan Krishna loves it so much. Similarly, if our hearts are as pure as this butter, Bhagawan Krishna is going to love all of us as well! 😊

Moving on further with Little Krishna’s childhood “Leelas”, as He grows up a little more, He wasn’t satisfied with just stealing the butter! He would steal butter, consume it, give it all His friends, and finally hit the pot on to the stone and break it to pieces! As the pot breaks with a huge thudding sound, Little Krishna would clap His hands and laugh out loud! 😊 We might be wondering here, why is Little Krishna breaking the pot and is so happy with it? Why isn’t he just stopping with stealing the butter? There is a deeper meaning to this as well – This butter is like our “Atman” and the pot is like our “Deham” (Physical body). By consuming the butter, Little Krishna is consuming our pure Atman filled with Bhakti! However, as He takes us to Vaikunta, do we go with this physical body? The answer is “No”! As Little Krishna takes us along with Him to Vaikunta, He’s going to dispose off this physical body of ours and is only going to take our Atman with him. As the pot signifies the physical body, Little Krishna breaks the pot and conveys the important message that our physical body is destroyable, like this pot!

Thus, as Little Krishna continues His “Operation Butter” every passing day, Yashoda is getting irritated slowly! She now feels that her son is going a little bit too much on eating butter. As a mother, she was concerned for her son’s health. What would happen if the little one consumes too much of butter? Won’t He have digestion and other related health problems? Thinking thus, Yashoda slowly starts hiding the pot of butter from the eyes of Little Krishna! She now ties a long rope (Commonly referred to as “Uri”) to the pot, pulls the rope downwards, which would in turn push the pot upwards to a height which Little Krishna’s hands might not be able to reach! This is now an interesting contest between Yashoda and Little Krishna! Every day Yashoda would make sure that the butter pot is kept hidden from Little Krishna’s eyesight, and on His part, Little Krishna would somehow find and locate the butter pot, steal all the butter from it and consume it! This contest was going on unabated now for days and months together!

As this new contest was emerging, Little Krishna had to change his “Modus-Operandi” of His “Operation Butter”! 🙂 Till now we’ve seen that the butter pot was close to His vicinity and Little Krishna never had any problems in latching on to it. But now, the pot is hidden and kept out of His reach! Now what does Little Krishna do to get hold of the pot? He modifies His “Operation Butter” beautifully and employs a two-pronged strategy to combat His “Mission”! What is that strategy? What is Little Krishna’s new “Modus Operandi” to combat Yashoda? Let’s eagerly wait till the next episode to find out! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 275 – Why did Little Krishna steal butter? A deeper message for all of us!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We had experienced in the previous episode how Little Krishna unleashed His “Operation Butter” on the residents of Gokula town. He goes house after house like a burglar. steals all the butter from every house that he steps inside and eats them happily. As this operation was becoming more and more successful every passing day, people start investigating as to how the butter alone disappears mysteriously from their homes, but everything else remains intact. It is at this time, one of the residents try to stay awake at night, so as to catch the “thief”! As Little Krishna unleashes His operation as usual, He gets trapped red-handed by the woman of that house! However, smart as He was, Little Krishna gives her some lame and childish answers and makes the woman laugh out with all her love and affection! Now Gokula starts to understand who this “butter thief” was! It is none other than their own darling child, Little Krishna Himself!

As Yashoda comes to know of this, she instructs Little Krishna to stay put at home only. As she understands that His liking is towards butter, she feeds him with lot of butter, so that He might not go out and steal it from someone else’s home! Little Krishna obeys His mother’s words and stays at home for the next 3-4 days! However, the same people who came and complained about Little Krishna start missing His presence at their homes so much, that they request Yashoda to send Him for some few hours again. However, now Little Krishna puts some “conditions” to them thus – “Do you have butter at your place? I shall come to your place only if there is butter. Else I won’t! If I’ve to come again to your place, you should not complain against me another time! Moreover, if anything goes missing from your place, you should declare in public that I’m not a thief and I’ve not stolen anything! Only if you accept these conditions, I shall come!”

As the child innocently says thus, the woman who complained against Little Krishna was in tears of joy and compassion! She immediately replied back to Little Krishna, in front of His mother, Yashoda – “Oh Kanna! From today onwards, I’ll not complain anything against you. All I need is your presence at my place! So please come to my house immediately. I shall give you whatever you want!”

Thus, this is how Little Krishna played pranks with all the people in Gokula. As Yashoda prepares butter at her place every day, Little Krishna sees it with His eyes wide open! It is like seeing young and beautiful girls! Little Krishna does not like it when the milk is boiled! He also doesn’t like it much when the thick curd is diluted into butter milk. He wants everything to be fresh and thick! Thus, if He sees buttermilk and boiled milk, it is like seeing men and older women! We might be wondering why is this comparison given here. There is a deeper meaning that is attached to the entire episode of Little Krishna being passionate towards butter and thick curd! The meaning goes like this – When we say that Little Krishna did not have a “passion” towards buttermilk and boiled milk like that of men and older women, it means that, men are egoistic and they would think within themselves that they can take care of themselves! Whereas, if we’ve to take younger women, they would have the mindset that it is only Bhagawan Krishna who can take care of them!

This is the deeper message that all of us should understand. Also, when we say that Bhagawan Krishna was more interested towards young girls, it doesn’t mean that He was physically attracted towards them. This is a wrong perception that many people have and they use this half-baked information to malign Bhagawan Krishna and Sanaatana Dharma itself! We’ve to understand the real reason why Bhagawan Krishna “exhibited” interest towards young girls and married more than 16,000 women! It is to be understood here that, the “Gopikas” with whom Bhagawan Krishna performed the “Raasa-Leela”, were all incarnations of the Devas (Celestial Beings). They had an ardent long-time wish that they should spend quality time with their Bhagawan, but till then, they didn’t get that opportunity. It is only during this Krishna-Avatara that they got that time to spend with Bhagawan. It is to be recollected from our previous episodes that when Bhagawan Vishnu decides to incarnate in this world as Bhagawan Krishna, He had instructed all the Devas to incarnate as Gopikas and had given the assurance that He would spend quality time with them. This is the real background behind Bhagawan Krishna “being amidst young women”. It is to be understood that Bhagawan Krishna wasn’t “physically” involved with any of them. It was a “divine experience” and a blissful moment for all the Devas in the form of “Gopikas”.

More than all of these, we should understand another important point here as well. For Bhagawan, all of us, ardent devotees are like young women only. As I had explained a while ago, only if we have the mindset of a young woman, we would have that attitude of total surrender towards Bhagawan Krishna! All of us should develop that thought that it is only Bhagawan Krishna who would lift us from this ocean of “Samsaara” (Bondage and Illusion) and grant us the highest “Moksha”. It is to make us understand this all-important message, Bhagawan Krishna steals butter (Butter is one of the purest forms of milk). Just like how He is stealing butter, Bhagawan Krishna He steals our pure and innocent hearts that are full of “Bhakti” towards Him! If we’re totally immersed in Bhakti, we would also be able to dance with Bhagawan Krishna by holding His divine hands, just like how the Gopikas were able to do!

So for today, let us try and understand this important message! Thus, as Little Krishna grows up a little more, He not only consumed the butter, but also broke the pots in which the butter was stored! A beautiful experience awaits us in the next episode as to how Little Krishna broke the butter pots! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 274 – Little Krishna unleashes “OPERATION BUTTER” – Gets caught red-handed!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We’re amidst a beautiful experience of Little Krishna unleashing His childish mischievous acts on the cows and the cowherds. We’ve witnessed yesterday how Little Krishna played pranks on those who were milking the cows. He innocently goes near them and requests them for some milk to drink, as they’re milking the cows. At times when the cowherds refuse milk for Little Krishna, He suddenly unties the cow! As the cow is untied, it is starting to kick the cowherd who is milking it! As the cowherd is kicked away by the cow, Little Krishna goes beneath and drinks the milk directly from the cow itself! On a similar note, He tries playing pranks with the cows itself! He ties a small cracker to the cow’s tail and as the cracker bursts, the cow gets panicked and starts running all over the place! Upon seeing this, Little Krishna claps His hands and laughs loud! Many a times as Little Krishna is unleashing His pranks, people are admiring them and they too join in to have a hearty laugh! The entire Gokula is having a wonderful time with Little Krishna!

Moving on thus, we are now going to witness the beautiful event of Little Krishna trying to steal butter. As days pass by, Little Krishna starts going into each house in the town, crafts a “strategy”, steals all the butter from there and consumes it! What is that strategy? During the night, Little Krishna would go to bed along with Yashoda and Nandagopa and give an “innocent act” of sleeping tight! During midnight, after ensuring that all are fast asleep, Little Krishna sets out! He initially sets a target of the house that He has to perform his “Operation Butter” and during the wee hours of midnight, He ventures into that house carefully without anybody noticing Him. He searches His way to the place where the butter is stored and kept. As He finds the butter, he silently breaks open the pot, consumes all the butter, closes the pot and keeps it exactly at the same place from where He took it. After the “Operation Butter” is successfully enacted, Little Krishna would silently make His way back to His house, and sleep amidst Yashoda and Nandagopa again, as if nothing has happened at all! Thus, “Operation Butter” is extremely successful! 😊

As the daybreak commences, people in the house wherein the “Operation Butter” had taken place wake up to witness a huge surprise! The pot is exactly at the place where they had kept it last night, but only the butter is missing! 😊 On the first day, things look very mysterious for people. They obviously did not know that it was this Little Krishna who’s stealing all their butter. However, as few days pass by and as the same routine repeats, people get a doubt! Now who is that “mysterious culprit” stealing all the butter? They decide to investigate and lay a trap to find out! Thus, people plan a “counter-operation” to the “Operation Butter” to take on this “mysterious culprit”! They note the pattern of the “robbery” and on one night, as Little Krishna unfolds His “Operation Butter” (Quite as usual), there was a woman who is following this fellow at the back! Thus, as Little Krishna enters the house and begins His operation, she catches Him red-handed! This woman has “outsmarted” Little Krishna and has successfully thwarted the “Operation Butter” tonight! 😊

As Little Krishna is caught red-handed, His mouth and face are full of butter everywhere! This is such a beautiful sight and a treat for all of us, ardent devotees to watch and enjoy! As the woman sees Little Krishna in this fashion, she asks him, “Oh baby! Who are you? Why are you eating butter at this time of the night?” Of course, the woman did not get angry on the kid. She asks Him with all her love and compassion. As this woman asks thus, Little Krishna replies back, “I’m Balarama’s younger brother!” It seems that Balarama had a “very good image” amongst people of Gokula. 😊 He was known to be a very quiet and calm boy, but his brother Krishna was exactly the opposite! So, unwilling to reveal Himself by saying that He’s Krishna, He “smartly” introduces Himself as “Balarama’s brother”, in the pretext that people might let him off!

Now this woman asks Little Krishna thus, “My darling child! Why did you enter into my house at this time of the night? What are you doing here? Why aren’t you at your home?” Little Krishna answers back, “Oh! Since all the houses in Gokula are of the same kind and with the same structure, I couldn’t differentiate between my house and yours! So I accidentally entered into your house, thinking that it is mine!” As Little Krishna was giving daring answers thus, the woman was more amused than angry! She continues questioning Him thus, “Oh Okay! If that is the case, why did you keep your hands on the butter pot? Little Krishna replies thus, “Oh! You know what? I was amidst all the cows of my house. Suddenly one of the little calves went missing somewhere. I went searching for it, and thus dropped into your house! I was thinking whether that calf would be somewhere inside this pot and hence I wanted to check it! That’s why I took this pot!” 😊 How innocent an answer is this! Upon hearing this, the woman started to laugh heartily! She asked again thus, “Oh Krishna! Did you find the calf inside the pot?” Little Krishna replies back thus, Oh no! ☹ I couldn’t find it inside this pot! I was waiting to tell this to you and then leave from your place! Now that I’ve told you, I’m leaving!”

As Little Krishna says thus, He disappears within a jiffy, thus leaves the woman of the house, searching for Him! Next day, she hurries to Yashoda with a huge list of complaints about Little Krishna! Accordingly, Yashoda asks Little Krishna thus, “Oh Baby! Why do you want to go and steal butter from someone else’s house? We have so much of butter at our house itself isn’t it? You can eat how much ever butter you want. But, please do not go to another house and eat theirs!” Upon His mother’s request, Little Krishna stays back at His home for the next 3-4 days! He is not going anywhere outside!

Slowly on the fifth day, that same woman who lodged a huge complaint against Little Krishna comes to the marketplace and meets Yashoda there. She asks Yashoda thus, “Oh Yashoda! I didn’t see your son for the past 3-4 days! What happened to him? Is he fine?” Hearing thus, Yashoda was surprised and replies back thus, “Oh! It was you who came and complained to me about my son! I had instructed him not to go out anywhere. So he’s at my home only!” Hearing thus, this woman replies, “Oh Yashoda! It’s true that I complained against your son stealing butter. However, I’m longing to see him again. I’m missing Him so much. So, please can you send Him today to my place for some time?”

As Yashoda comes back, she conveys this to Little Krishna! Now what is the strategy that Little Krishna going to adopt? He has finally attained some “freedom to go out” and execute his “Operation Butter” again! He was thus waiting for a chance, and the chance presents itself beautifully before Him! 😊 Let’s wait till the next episode to witness the continuation of this beautiful experience! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 273 – Little Krishna starts unleashing His mischievous acts!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We’re amidst a beautiful experience wherein Baby Krishna is trying to crawl and walk around Yashoda’s and Nandagopa’s home. The entire town of Gokula is witnessing this beautiful scene every passing day and is enjoying the divine presence of Bhagawan amidst them in the form of a little child. Baby Krishna is so beautiful in appearance that people aren’t able to do any other work, but to keep admiring this baby’s “Leelas”.

As Baby Krishna grows up slowly, he begins to get up and starts walking. As He is trying to walk His way, Yashoda and Nandagopa are trying to encourage and motivate Him to walk towards them slowly. As Baby Krishna walks His way through, he falls mid-way as His legs aren’t able to carry Him for that long! As He falls down, He tries to get up on His own, but many a times, He’s unable to! As Yashoda sees Her darling child struggling to get up, she immediately rushes towards Him with all her motherly and innocent love and affection, holds His hands and slowly lifts Him up. She again encourages and motivates Baby Krishna to walk towards her!

As this was happening on a daily basis, people of Gokula wanted to take Baby Krishna to their respective homes and spend some time with Him! Seeking permission of Yashoda thus, the neighbors and other local residents take turns to have Baby Krishna with them for few hours! Wherever Baby Krishna goes, He’s being fed with nice food, butter and curd! This is how Baby Krishna develops a passion for butter, at such a young age itself. As He eats more and more butter, He becomes fatter and chubby! 😊 This is why we see even today, portraits of Baby Krishna to be chubby, stout and fat, with lot of butter melting down from His tender hands and fingers! This is a very beautiful way of worshipping Bhagawan Krishna and this is why for our blog page also, we have this portrait as the main picture! 😊

As Baby Krishna grows up, His mischief also increased exponentially. He is now 5-6 years of age and starts going around the town with His beautiful smile and appearance! People welcome little Krishna with all their love and affection.

Now Little Krishna is slowly learning how to make the cows graze. While doing so, He sees some people extracting milk from the cows. Little Krishna would go and stand besides these people and request them to give Him some milk to drink. Initially these people were so moved by the way the little child was innocently requesting them for milk, and they would give Him happily! But as this started to continue as a routine, some people started to slowly deny him!

As Little Krishna was denied milk, He now starts unfolding His mischievous behavior – As the cows are being milked, Little Krishna would suddenly untie the rope with which the they would have been tied to the pillar! As a result, the cows’ legs would be freed up from the rope and hence, they started kicking the person who was milking the cow! As the cow kicks the person who is milking the cow, he is thrown miles apart! As the person falls, Little Krishna would clap His hands and laugh loudly! He would then go beneath the cow and drink the milk directly from the cow itself.

This would automatically irritate the person who is milking the cow isn’t it? 😊 That person would come and ask angrily thus, “Oh Krishna! Why did you release the cow from the rope?” Little Krishna would reply thus, “Oh! I asked you for a little milk, but you didn’t give me! So I decided that I would have it myself! What’s wrong in this? If the cow is kicking you, go and ask the cow, rather than asking me!” Upon hearing this “innocent” answer from the child, people get amused, rather than getting angry on the little one! Thus, Little Krishna slowly starts unleashing His mischief on the people of Gokula!

On another instance, Little Krishna ties a small cracker on to the cow’s tail! As the cracker goes off with a loud sound, the cow gets panicked and starts running here and there! Upon seeing this, Little Krishna would laugh loud by clapping His small tender hands! Upon seeing this, other people also couldn’t control their laughter! Of course, Little Krishna had a great rapport with all the cows that were present at Gokula. Whenever Little Krishna goes amidst the cows, all of them come flocking around Him and enjoy a blissful time with their Bhagawan! 😊 How fortunate were these cows too! Who were they in their previous births and what “Karma” had they performed to such a perfection that they’ve got such wonderful time with Bhagawan Krishna? Only Bhagawan Krishna can give answers to these questions!

So for today, let us enjoy and experience Little Krishna’s “Leelas” one after the other and shall wait till the next episode to continue further! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 272 – Little Krishna discovers a “new” passion – BUTTER!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We’ve experienced during the previous episode, how Baby Krishna “kicked” Sakatasura in such a way that he had meet a fate quite similar to his predecessor, Poothana. We’ve witnessed that Baby Krishna was playing with all His toys and a big wheel. It was into this wheel did Sakatasura enter with all his “Maaya-Shakti” (Illusionary and demonic powers) and tried to jam the wheel into the little child, so as to kill Him then and there! However, Baby Krishna was no ordinary child as Sakatasura thought. He knew exactly where to hit Sakatasura and at what point. As Sakatasura arrives with the fast-rolling wheel, Baby Krishna starts kicking His small legs in hunger! This is a great coincidence, and we can see here that Baby Krishna did not purposefully kill Sakatasura. Rather, it was Sakatasura who came and poked his head into the kicking radius of Baby Krishna’s feet! As Sakatasura made his way thus, he was kicked hard by Baby Krishna and with that impact, Sakatasura was pushed miles away, fell on the ground with a great force and finally breathed his last!

As this event unfolded, the entire town of Gokula got to know this within a jiffy, as Sakatasura was kicked with a great sound! People came running from all corners to check what had happened. Yashoda hurriedly makes her way to the place where her Baby Krishna was present, and learns that a Raakshasa had tried to kill her darling child! However, Baby Krishna remained as if nothing at all had happened! He maintained perfect calm and composure and upon seeing that, Yashoda herself was puzzled! However, she ensured that her baby wasn’t getting gripped with fear and hence, she pampered the child and took Him away into the house! This news of Sakatasura’s death reaches Kamsa and he now thinks of the next plan. He’s not going to give up so easily. As Kamsa thinks of the next plan, he decides to wait for a while now. He knows that whomever he’s going to send now, is going to meet the same end as Poothana and Sakatasura.

Moving on thus, as Baby Krishna grows up with each passing day, His “Leelas” (Divine acts) also start increasing. Now little Krishna gets to the age of 3 or 4 and now His prime focus is on BUTTER and the women who try to prepare that butter at their homes. As Yashoda realizes that her child likes butter so much, she serves Him with some little amount of butter every day along with his quota of food! As Yashoda serves Him thus, little Krishna happily consumes all of it with utmost satisfaction! Afterall more than consuming the butter and the food, Bhagawan Krishna is consuming all the ardent and innocent “Bhakti” that these people are pouring upon Him! Can a small amount of butter satisfy Bhagawan’s hunger? Not at all! It is only the devotion and the pure heart of His devotees that are going to satisfy Him!

As Baby Krishna grows up, He starts crawling and this is beautifully pictured and portrayed by many Sages in many texts, not only in the Shrimad Bhaagawatha Puraana. If we look at the “Paasurams” (Hymns) composed by the “Alwars” and “Aaachaaryas”, they’ve worshipped Bhagawan Vishnu as Baby Krishna in various instances. This is one of the most beautiful portions of the entire text of “Shrimad Bhaagawatha Puraana” and Sage Sukhaachaarya has dedicated hundreds of slokas to describe Bhagawan Krishna’s childhood days!

Thus, as Baby Krishna is crawling His way through, all over Yashoda’s home, the entire Gokula is up with joy and celebration and is admiring this divine beauty. As Baby Krishna is crawling thus, Yashoda lifts Him in her arms and shows the sun and the moon to the little one. She says lovingly to her son thus, “Oh Kanna! (Another common way of addressing Baby Krishna!) See how the sun is shining bright and the moon is so awesome to see!” She now turns towards the moon and says thus, “Oh Chandra! As you pass by, if you really have the eyes to see the entire world, please have a look at my handsome baby Krishna here! If you ever get to see His little beautiful eyes, you’ll never even be able to turn your face away from Him! As Baby Krishna thus begins to crawl through, He develops a special liking towards butter and milk.

As days pass by, Baby Krishna now begins His trial of “walking” for the first time! Nandagopa is sitting at one end of the room and Yashoda at the other. Baby Krishna is at the center – Between both of them. He is now trying to get up and slowly walk towards His mother! On the way, He falls down on the floor and all the jewels that He’s wearing on His neck, feet, hands etc. make beautiful ringing sounds! He again gets up and tries walking further, and again falls after taking few steps! As this is happening, Yashoda is trying to call Baby Krishna towards her with more and more love and compassion.

To witness this beautiful sight, all the Devas headed by Indra make their way to Gokula. They cannot resist themselves from watching this beautiful moment! Bhagawan Brahma too is overjoyed upon seeing this! Sage Naarada is totally overpowered with tears of joy and devotion! The entire world is gazing at the beauty of Baby Krishna trying to walk for the first time! It is amazing to witness how Bhagawan Vishnu, embodiment of the Supreme Consciousness is reducing Himself to a small child and is trying to give this lovely experience for all of us! This is why Bhagawan Krishna’s incarnation is extremely special. His childhood days are a treat for any “Bhakta” (Devotee) to experience. His so-called “childish acts” are a treat for all of us to enjoy the nectar of Bhagawad Bhakti!

As Little Krishna moves around His house trying to walk, His divine little feet make beautiful marks on the floor and that is an admirable sight for Yashoda and Nandagopa! Upon seeing this, Yashoda decides thus, “Okay! From tomorrow, I do not need to put any sort of design (Kolam) in front of my house, or within my house! I can just immerse Baby Krishna’s little feet into the rice flour and make Him walk all the way! This itself forms a beautiful design, isn’t it?  :)” Even today, we do this during the celebrations of Shri Krishna Jayanti – We draw the design of Baby Krishna’s feet from the entrance of our homes, all the way leading to our “Puja-Area” isn’t it? In Gokula, at this moment, every day is a “Shri Krishna Jayanti” and everybody in Gokula is making Baby Krishna walk with His divine feet immersed with rice flour! This makes beautiful designs at all their homes and everybody is celebrating Baby Krishna in this fashion!

So for today, let us also imagine that Baby Krishna is walking with His divine little feet in our hearts and let us imagine the baby steps that little Krishna is drawing with flour at all our homes! With this, let us celebrate Shri Krishna Jayanti well in advance! 😊 Of course, if our hearts are pure and immersed with Bhakti, every day is a Krishna Jayanti only! We shall wait till the next episode to witness how Baby Krishna starts pursuing His passion towards butter and curd! Stay tuned! 😊

Episode # 271 – Baby Krishna “KICKS” Sakatasura to death!!!

cropped-little-krishna1.jpeg

We had witnessed and experienced Baby Krishna’s first “Leela” in the previous episode, wherein Poothana bore the first brunt! Poothana was none other than Kamsa’s messenger and had come with a savage resolution to kill Baby Krishna. As per the instruction of Kamsa, Poothana disguised herself into the form of a beautiful woman and approached the house wherein Baby Krishna was with Yashoda and Nandagopa. As Poothana tried to push through with her agenda, Baby Krishna saw this as an opportunity and finished her off with least of His effort! Unable to bear the pain inflicted on her by Baby Krishna, Poothana fell to the ground dead! All this happens within minutes and upon seeing a huge Raakshasi dead at her house, Yashoda was totally stunned to bits! She realized that a great danger had come in the form of this disguised Raakshasi and that, “Bhagawan’s divine grace” had saved her little one from being killed! Little did she realize that her little one is none other than Bhagawan Himself, and it is He who had killed this fearful Poothana.

As Yashoda sees her little Baby Krishna, she feels that the child was scared to bits! 😊 Hence, she immediately brings a cow in front of the child and rotates its tail in a clockwise direction! This was an ancient practice that was followed to alleviate a baby’s fear. I do not know if we still have such practices existing in the present day! Perhaps it might still be existing in some corner of our Bhaarata Desha! Baby Krishna sees this and feels amused within Himself! He thinks within Himself thus, “Oh! What kind of love and affection does this Yashoda have on me? Isn’t this real devotion? I’m so moved by the way she is trying to protect me and ensure that nothing happens to me! Although I’m the leader of all the fourteen “Lokhas”, this Yashoda’s innocent and pure love and affection can never be compared to all what I do!” Thinking thus, Bhagawan Krishna was moved by his mother’s love and affection towards Him.

This is the important message that all of us should understand from this event – What is real “Bhakti”? Upon seeing Bhagawan, if our hearts melt by thinking, “Oh! Nothing should harm Bhagawan in any way!”, this is the feeling that pleases Bhagawan! This is exactly what Yashoda is doing here – Upon seeing Baby Krishna near the dead body of Poothana, she immediately takes Him in her arms, pampers Him, ensures that nothing has happened to Him and secures Him totally amidst her bosom. This is true “Bhakti” isn’t it? The motherly love and affection of Yashoda overwhelms Bhagawan Krishna to a great extent and with this, we come to the end of the “Poothana-Samhaara”.

Moving on thus, as Poothana breathes her last, this news reaches Kamsa in a jiffy. He now makes up his mind and thinks of another plan. Now the next “Raakshasa” to make his way to Gokula is going to be Sakatasura. As Baby Krishna was sitting in a corner and playing with some toys, there was a big wheel of a cart nearby. Nandagopa had brought it near Baby Krishna so that he can rotate that wheel and play with it. Sakatasura sees this as an opportunity – He crafts a plan here. The plan is that, he uses his “Maya-Shakti” (Illusionary power) to enter into the wheel, roll towards Baby Krishna with a great speed, dash upon Him and kill Him then and there! With this plan, Sakatasura enters into the wheel and rotates the wheel towards Baby Krishna with a great speed.

However at this point, to the bad luck of Sakatasura, Baby Krishna started to feel hungry. Even today we might see that if babies become hungry, they would start kicking their legs profusely, so as to communicate their hunger to their mother! This is exactly what Baby Krishna is doing here. He is now kicking His legs and starts crying for milk. It is at this time, Sakatasura is coming towards Him with great speed and with his head towards Baby Krishna’s kicking legs! In fact, Baby Krishna didn’t purposefully kick this fellow. It was Sakatasura who took his head into the “kicking radius” of Baby Krishna’s legs! 😊 Thus, as Sakatasura makes his way towards Baby Krishna, His kicking legs find Sakatasura’s head to perfection! Thus, unable to withstand the pressure, Sakatasura was kicked off to a great distance and he fell to the ground dead!

As this unfolds, there is a huge thud sound and people come running towards Baby Krishna! Yashoda too makes her way immediately to Baby Krishna’s vicinity and learns what had conspired! With this, she realizes that her new-born baby is not an ordinary one, and is a target of many Raakshasas one after the other! First it was Poothana and now it was Sakatasura. Yashoda immediately takes Baby Krishna in her arms and pulls Him away from that place. She again tries to alleviate the baby’s fear with all her “ways and means”, however, as we all know, it was Baby Krishna who is inducing more and more fear amidst the Raakshasas, including Kamsa!

So for today, let us enjoy and experience this miracle of Baby Krishna’s and let us wait till the next episode for more and more such miracles to unfold! Meanwhile, the news that Sakatasura has met the same fate as Poothana reaches Kamsa! What is he going to do next? What is going to be his plan? Stay tuned to find out! 😊
