Episode # 334 – Draupati CRIES & PRAYS to Bhagawan Krishna – The Savior of the world!!!

We’re at an extremely critical juncture wherein Draupati is being physically assaulted by Duchaasana in front of the entire courtroom! This is the ultimate pinnacle of “Adharma” that can ever take place and Duryodhana and Co. never seem to realize the huge disaster that is awaiting them in the near future. However, Duryodhana and Co. are encouraging Duchaasana’s heinous act of pulling Draupati’s saree off. Duryodhana, Karna, Sahuni and the others clap their hands and roar with laughter as Draupati couldn’t bare the insult anymore. Yudishtra and the Paandava brothers are fuming with anger. There couldn’t be a humiliation that is worse than this! Duryodhana has breached all levels of “Adharma” and is in a different zone altogether! Draupati cries for help to people around her – Only for nobody to come to her rescue! She prays to Yudishtra and the Paandavas to come and save her – But of no use! The Paandavas could not move an inch from where they are seated, because, as per the rule of the game, Draupati has been lost forever! Bhishmachaarya and Guru Dhronachaarya turn their heads away in utter shame, but none came forward to stop the blatant Adharma” that is unfolding right in front of their eyes! King Dhridiraashtra too is least bothered about what was happening!

Finally, as none of them come to Draupati’s rescue, she remembers one important person at this juncture – Bhagawan Krishna! Readers might remember this – When Draupati and the Paandava brothers got married, Bhagawan Krishna had once come to give them some gifts to congratulate them for the marriage. At that time, Bhagawan had given an assurance to Draupati thus, “Oh Draupati! Please do not worry that I’m not near to you at all times. You may call me whenever you need my help, and I would ensure my presence at that point in time without fail!” Draupati suddenly remembers this assurance given by Bhagawan Krishna during her marriage and she decides that this is perhaps the right time for calling Bhagawan Krishna! Thus, as Duchaasana is continuing to strip her in public, Draupati closes her eyes and meditates towards Bhagawan Krishna.

“Yaatam mayaa vasishtena puraa geetham mahaatmana!

Mahatyaapahi sampraapthe smarthavyo Bhagawan Harihi!”

This is a very important sloka here. Apart from Bhagawan Krishna’s assurance to her, when Draupati was a child, Sage Vasishta had given her a very important message – “Whenever you are amidst a huge problem, think about Bhagawan Hari (Bhagawan Vishnu) and He would definitely come to your rescue!” Thus, Draupati recollects all of these and prays to Bhagawan Krishna with ardent devotion thus:

“Govindeti samaabhaashya krishnechita punah punaha!

Manasaa chintayaamaasa devam narayanam prabhum!!”

Thus, Draupati gets reminded of Bhagawan Krishna again and again in her memory and slowly starts meditating towards Him! She now starts chanting Bhagawan Krishna’s divine names one after the other thus:

“Govinda! Govinda! Govinda! Krishna! Yaadava! Keshava!

Aapadsvayapadam Krishnam lokaanaam prabitaamaham!!”

Thus, Draupati calls out fervently and loudly – “Oh Govinda! Oh Keshava! Oh Krishna! Oh Bhagawan! I’ve heard that you’re the person who comes to the rescue of all your ardent devotees immediately when they are in a problem! Here I am – Being insulted by these wicked people around me! Here I am – Being deserted by all the people around me, including my five husbands! Who other than you is going to come to my rescue? Oh Bhagawan! Please pay heed to my words and save me from this disaster!” Draupati continues to cry out thus:

“Govinda! Dwaarakaavasin! Krishna! Gopijanah priya!

Kauraveh paribhoothaam maam kim na jaanaasi Keshava??”

Draupati cries out aloud thus: “Oh Bhagawan! Have you forgotten me completely? Why aren’t you remembering me at this critical juncture? Where have you gone, leaving me alone like this? Why don’t you come and protect me at a time when everyone else have deserted me in my life? I know that you wouldn’t forget any devotee of yours, wherever you are in this world! But, have you forgotten this ardent devotee of yours?” Draupati cries thus:

“Hey Naatha! Hey Ramaa Naatha! Hey Narayana! Hey Vaasudeva!!”

Draupati continues crying to Bhagawan Krishna thus, “Oh Bhagawan! I’ve heard that you’ve come to protect the little Prahlaada by bursting the pillar open! You’ve answered the prayers of Little Dhruva immediately as he called out for you! You rushed to save an elephant from the clutches of a crocodile, didn’t you? However, you’re not coming to me when I’m calling you ardently! How unfair can this be to your devotee?” Even as Draupati cries aloud thus, Bhagawan Krishna never came near her! Duchaasana is continuously trying to pull out her saree!

So for today, let us understand how Draupati fervently called for Bhagawan Krishna! Now the ball is in Bhagawan Krishna’s court! How is He going to respond to Draupati? Is He going to come to her rescue immediately, or is He going to test her patience even more? Or, is He going to protect her from wherever He is? How is Bhagawan going to protect Draupati? An absorbing episode awaits us tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Episode # 333 – The pinnacle of “ADHARMA” at Hastinapura unfolds – Duchasana STRIPS Draupati in public!!!

In the previous episode, we had witnessed Draupati being dragged into the courtroom by Duchhaasana, as per Duryodhana’s instruction. This is an extremely critical moment in the entire set of events that are unfolding at Hastinapura, rather quickly as Vidura anticipated earlier. He had earlier warned King Dhridiraashtra not to proceed with the gambling game further, however, his words of wisdom weren’t to be heard by anyone in the courtroom. As Vidura had warned, things are only going southwards, with Duryodhana gaining more and more arrogance by the minute. As Yudishtra loses Draupati in the game, she is now dragged into the courtroom and Duryodhana’s plan is to abduct her as his “Daasi” in front of Yudishtra and Co., which would humiliate and insult them the most! The agenda is very clear here for Duryodhana – Do whatever it takes to humiliate Yudishtra, so that he would never ever desire for a kingdom or for a luxurious life! As we had witnessed yesterday, Draupati asks a few questions to King Dhridiraashtra and Bhishmachaarya as to whether these heinous acts done by Duryodhana and Co. are as per “Dharma” or not! As Bhishmachaarya doesn’t have an answer to Draupati’s legitimate questions, he quickly “passes the buck” on to Yudishtra himself, since he’s considered an epitome of “Dharma”.

Meanwhile, as Draupati is about to question her own husband, Vikarna intervenes and since he’s a good person by heart, he comes to the support of Draupati. Vikarna explains to Duryodhana and Co. that their wrongful and sinful acts are going to lead them and the Hastinapura kingdom towards disaster. However, Karna isn’t going to hold himself back. He’s coming now to support Duryodhana. Karna answers Vikarna thus, “Oh Vikarna! Please do not talk about all these at this moment! The game is over and as per the rule, Draupati has been won over! Hence, who gave her the right to stand here and question all of us? “Daasis” do not have the authority to question the king or the prince. Their only job is to do what the king and the prince says! Hence, Draupati should only obey whatever Duryodhana says, and shouldn’t talk anything back!”

As Karna says thus, Duryodhana gains more courage. He taps his lap with his hands and asks Draupati to sit on his lap in front of everyone! This is the next arrogant move that Duryodhana makes, which stuns everybody in the courtroom! Neither Bhishmachaarya nor Guru Dhronachaarya expected this to happen! They couldn’t digest what they were witnessing right in front of their eyes! Vidura is fuming with anger. He wants to intervene atleast at this stage, but now things are totally out of control! There’s no use of Vidura explaining “Dharma” at this stage! “Adharma” has taken over the centre-stage and there’s no other option but to remain as a mute spectator! Duryodhana calls out Draupati with irritating and unbearable words thus, “Oh my dear “Daasi”! This Duryodhana has won over you today! Thus, from this moment, you should do all what I want you to do. You should satisfy me in every way possible! Hence, I now desire that you come and sit on my lap in front of everybody! Let this be a visual treat for all people who are assembled here! Let Duryodhana’s power be known to the entire world!”

As Duryodhana utters these unbearable words, Yudishtra and Co. are fuming with extreme anger! They did not anticipate things to go this awry! They were waiting for a chance to retaliate against Duryodhana’s heinous acts, but this isn’t the time to do that. Hence, Yudishtra was just waiting with enormous patience to see what unfolds. As all of them look stunningly thus, Ducchaasana is now going to take the extreme step! Enraged and fully charged by Duryodhana’s words, Ducchaasana stands up, rushes towards Draupati and wants to perform a physical assault on her! As the entire courtroom is looking on, Duchhaasana starts pulling Drapuati towards him, so that she can go and fall over Duryodhana. As Draupati resists and defends herself, Duchhaasana decides to humiliate her further! Rather than pushing her towards Duryodhana immediately, he decides that he would unstrip her saree and then push her towards him, which would be an even more greater insult to Draupati and the Paandavas!

Deciding thus, Ducchaasana takes the extreme step now – He starts pulling out Draupati’s saree amidst the entire courtroom! This is the ultimate step that anybody can take – Physical assault of a woman in public! This comes as a rude shock for everyone! Bhishmachaarya closes his eyes unbearably and so does Guru Dhronachaarya! Vidura turns his face away in anger, shock and shame, whereas Yudishtra couldn’t see this sight of his own wife being humiliated like this in public! He is in tears of shock and frustration! Bheemasena is fuming extremely with anger! His anger is such that if given an opportunity, he would crush Duryodhana and Sahuni then and there for his lunch! The Paandava brothers are clearly humiliated to the maximum extent possible! Ducchaasana starts undressing Draupati in public, and she cries for help! Even as Draupati was crying aloud, nobody came forward to rescue her! Yudishtra wanted to rush to the center, only to be stopped by Duryodhana! Duryodhana reminds Yudishtra and Co. by saying that they do not have any right to even touch Draupati anymore!

Saying thus, Duryodhana burst out into laughter, along with his other brothers and Sahuni seated by his side! He was enjoying the act of Duchhaasana pulling out Draupati’s saree! So for today, let us understand up to this point, and let us try and digest this heinous happening at Hastinapura! We shall wait till the next episode to find out who came to the rescue of Draupati and how did this happen! Stay tuned!

Episode # 332 – Draupati openly questions the courtroom on “Dharma” – Bhismhachaarya “washes off” his hands!!!

We’re at a very important juncture wherein things are going disastrous at Hastinapura! Draupati has been won over by Duryodhana and Yudishtra now has lost complete control of everything that he had in his possession, including himself, his four brothers and his wife as well! Now he has nothing else to stake and play the game, and the gambling game comes to a close with this. However, Duryodhana hasn’t finished his rant and tyranny over Yudishtra and Co. He wants to humiliate them more. With this wicked intention, he sends Praathikaami (his charioteer) to bring Draupati to the courtroom and also wants to officially declare in front of everyone that she has become his “Daasi” (Servant). As Praathikaami meets Draupati in her “Antahpura”, she asks a few legitimate questions and sends him back. This happens twice and with this, Duryodhana becomes extremely angry! He shouts on top of his voice to Praathikaami thus, ,”Oh Praathikaami! Now I’ve had enough with her! Who is she to keep asking questions by sitting in the “Antahpura” without showing her appearance? What right does she have now to even sit in my “Antahpura”? I shall show her the place where she has to reside from now onwards! Oh Praathikaami! I want her here now. If she’s not coming out on her own, drag her here. This will be the treatment that she would get from today onwards!”

Duryodhana’s words stun Bhishmachaarya and the others seated there. All of them know that things are going to turn extremely disastrous now if Draupati makes her appearance in the courtroom. As Duryodhana instructs Praathikaami, he refuses to go for the third time. Now Ducchaasana (Duryodhana’s brother) decides that he would go directly and bring her out. With the wink of his eye, Duryodhana directs Ducchaasana to go and off he sets into Draupati’s chamber. As Ducchaasana arrives at her “Antahpura”, he straightaway starts insulting her! Atleast Praathikaami had some kind words to talk to Draupati, but Ducchaasana directly hit the goal post! Ducchaasana shouts on top of his voice thus, “Oh Paanchaali (Draupati)! How do you dare to back-answer Duryodhana who is your master from this moment? How could you have the courage not to obey Duryodhana’s words? Moreover, aren’t you ashamed of calling yourself as a “Pathivrata” (A devoted wife to a husband)? You’ve married not one, but five husbands! Aren’t you ashamed of living together with five people? You don’t even have the rights to be calling yourself as a “Pathivrata” anymore. From today onwards, you’re a mere “Daasi” and nothing else!”

As Duccaasana storms thus, Draupati wanted to give him a befitting reply. But even before she opens her mouth to talk, Ducchaasana rushes near her, catches her hair and head and drags her out of the “Antahpura”! Now, as Ducchaasana is dragging her with his strong hands, Draupati is totally helpless to defend herself. She now has no other person to consider as her savior, other than Bhagawan Krishna! Hence, as she is being dragged to the courtroom, Draupati starts meditating upon Bhagawan Krishna to somehow come and save her face in front of everyone in the courtroom! Now, Ducchaasana brings Draupati to the centre of the courtroom wherein all the people are seated. Draupati is dressed only in a single piece of clothing and she feels totally ashamed of being there amidst so many males. With a low voice, Draupati asks a few questions to all the senior people assembled there thus, “Oh King Dhridiraashtra! Oh Bhishmachaarya! Oh Guru Dhronachaarya! Oh Sage Kripachaarya! You’re witnessing something that has never happened in this famed kingdom till date. How do you have the heart to digest what’s happening here? Is it as per the book of “Dharma”? Oh Bhishmachaarya! You’re an epitome of “Dharma” as per my understanding! How can you keep quiet upon seeing all what is unfolding? Oh Vidura! You too are hand in glove with all what is happening? Oh Dhronachaarya! You’re supposed to be a great teacher, isn’t it? Why are you silent upon what’s happening? By doing so, you’re failing in your duty to teach your students the path of “Dharma” aren’t you?”

Draupati continues further thus, “Oh seniors in this kingdom! Please tell me which is “Dharma”. Please educate me whether whatever has happened today is according to the book of “Dharma”. Please teach me the “Sookshma” of “Dharma” (Secret behind “Dharma”)!” As Draupati appeals to the courtroom thus, everybody were silent! As Draupati looks at Bhishmachaarya, he put his head down! He was in utter shame and frustration that he wasn’t in a position to answer Draupati’s legitimate questions! As Draupati looks at Guru Dhronachaarya, guilt is written all over his face and this makes him hang his head in shame! In this way, all the people assembled there did not know what to answer Draupati! How could they justify a blatant “Adharma” that is taking place right in front of their eyes? As Draupati looks at Bhishmachaarya once again, finally Bhishmachaarya breaks the ice! He says in a low and a trembling voice thus, “Oh Draupati! All your questions are correct and legitimate! However, I do not know the answer for any of your questions. It is better that you direct all these questions of yours to Yudishtra, who is an epitome of “Dharma”. He might be able to give you proper answers for your queries!”

Saying so, Bhishmachaarya tries to escape from this mishap! He tries to wash his hands off! This is where Bhishmachaarya faltered big time! He should have openly confessed that whatever was happening is blatant “Adharma”! Even though he had the opportunity to criticize Duryodhana and Co. he failed in his duty didn’t he? This is why Bhishmachaarya lost his credibility completely! Moving on thus, as per Bhishmachaarya’s words, Draupati redirects her questions to Yudishtra. However, even before Yudishtra started talking, Vikarna, one of Duryodhana’s brothers, stands up to talk. Vikarna is a good person by heart, unlike Duryodhana and Co. He talks thus, “Oh King Dhridiraashtra and the others! Please understand one thing – Today is an important day in the downfall of Hastinapura! Let me tell you this very clearly! Today we’ve insulted our important daughter-in-law who has come to live with all of us. Nobody in this kingdom till date has resorted to such a cheap act. Thus, this is the biggest bad omen that I’m able to see. Our Hastinapura is going to be doomed very soon! Mark my words! Let me tell you one thing very clearly – Now that Draupati has raised legitimate questions, she should get her due answers. Only after the courtroom gives Draupati convincing answers, will the next proceeding / decision-making happen!”

As Vikarna talks thus, the Duryodhana camp is simmering with anger against him. Karna gets up to talk! So for today, let us understand till this point and we shall wait till the next episode to witness what happened next! What did Karna talk? Did he defend Draupati or insult her? Let’s find out tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Episode # 331 – Duryodhana wants Draupati to be dragged into the courtroom!!!

In the previous episode, we had witnessed the beginning of the aftermath of the gambling game, which is taking a disastrous turn as expected. Draupati has now become a “Daasi” to Duryodhana as Yudishtra staked her and lost! At this time, Vidura once again raises objection saying that this move done by Yudishtra was completely foul. Vidura’s argument was simple – How can a person who has lost himself in the game, continue playing any further? Even if he does so, what right does he have to take a decision to stake someone else and play? Hence, Yudishtra had lost the right to stake Draupati and play, the moment he had lost himself to Duryodhana. Hence, the move that made Draupati a servant to Duryodhana should be nullified. This was Vidura’s argument to King Dhridiraashtra, and further he warns of extremely disastrous consequences that Hastinapura is about to face because of this. Vidura once again cautions King Dhridiraashtra to wake up atleast now, before things become too late. Vidura highlights the plight of Duryodhana and how his jealousy and insecurity is driving him crazy, and is making him go behind unwanted company of people! But is King Dhridiraashtra going to listen atleast now? Let’s witness today!

As Vidura explains clearly thus, Duryodhana intervenes in the middle. He once again bursts with anger and shouts at Vidura thus, “Oh Vidura! Till today, I’ve been very patient with you. You’re someone who is a stumbling block to whatever constructive I do for myself. You’re eating the food of King Dhridiraashtra and ultimately thinking against his will and wish. Aren’t you ashamed to openly support this Yudishtra who is now reduced to nothing? Are you talking even a single word of appreciation for me and my smartness? You wouldn’t do it – Because, you’re by the side of Yudishtra at all times! Whatever you said, wouldn’t be accepted. I do not care whether it is “Dharma” or “Adharma. All I care about is whether I win or lose! If I lose to Yudishtra at any point in time, my future would be doomed in his hands. Have you even thought about this for a single moment before coming and “advising” me? Why don’t you give this same advice to Yudishtra?”

Saying thus, Duryodhana decides to take the next extreme step of bringing Draupati to the courtroom! For this, he sends one of his charioteers named “Praathikaami” to bring her! Duryodhana instructs Praathikaami thus, “Oh Praathikaami! I know you are a rough and tough person and you’re the best person suited for this work. Please go into the “Antahpura” and ask Draupati to come here. I know she wouldn’t accept it! However, tell her that she doesn’t have the moral authority to be residing in the “Antahpura” and drag her out, if she’s refusing to come on her own!” With all the possible unparliamentary words, Duryodhana instructs Praathikaami for the job, and he immediately goes to meet Draupati. Praathikaami explains to Draupati thus, “Oh Draupati! Please come to the courtroom as per the instruction of Duryodhana! You’re being wanted there, as you’ve become a servant now to Duryodhana! Now you’ve to act as per his instructions only!”

As Draupati hears thus, she was stunned and did not know what to reply for a moment! However, she composes herself and replies to Praathikaami thus, “Oh charioteer! What has happened now? Why should I become a servant of Duryodhana?” Praathikaami now explains all what had happened and how Yudishtra lost everything to Duryodhana including her! Now Draupati asks him an important question thus, “Oh Praathikaami! Did Yudishtra stake me first before him, or did he stake himself first before me? Which is true?” Praathikaami replies back that Yudishtra had first staked himself and lost! It is only after that, he staked her. As she listens to this, Draupati replies back, “Oh Praathikaami! If that is the case, this move is nullified! If Yuishtra has lost himself before staking me, he has no moral right to stake me at all! Go and tell him that Draupati is not lost!”

As Praathikaami listens to this, he did not know how to counter Draupati. Hence, he goes back to the courtroom with this question. Upon seeing Praathikaami coming without Draupati, Duryodhana asks him what happened! Praathikaami explains Draupati’s question and this irks Duryodhana even further! Duryodhana replies thus, “Oh Praathikaami! These questions are invalid now. It is me who would dictate terms henceforth. Who is she to sit in the “Antahpura” and keep asking questions? She has to act as per my wish. She has no moral right to be here first of all! Hence, go back and drag her into the courtroom! Back-answering me is a big crime that she has committed. For this, she has to be punished in the due procedure. Now, go and drag her out of the “Antahpura”. Even if she argues, do not pay any heed to her! Do what I say!”

As Duryodhana sternly instructs thus, Praathikaami goes back to the “Antahpura” to meet Draupati. It is also to be noted that Draupati at that time was in her menstrual periods, and as per the norms, she wasn’t supposed to be met by anyone. Even then, Draupati once again raises a question to Praathikaami thus, “Oh Praathikaami! If I come there now, is it as per “Dharma”? Now what should I come and talk there? Should I accept the defeat or should I cry foul? Should I talk on behalf of my husband or should I sacrifice him? Tell me what should I do, and then I would come!” Again, Praathikaami did not have an answer for this, and he once again went back to the courtroom seeking answers. Again Duryodhana was irked! At this time, Yudishtra intervenes and tells Praathikaami thus, “Oh Praathikaami! Please ask Draupati to come with just a single piece of dress around her and with a sad face. Let her come and just stand in front of King Dhridiraashtra. Atleast by seeing her pitiable face, King Dhridiraashtra might have a chance to change himself. Please go and ask her to come!”

Now Praathikaami once again goes back to call Draupati – Now according to Yudishtra’s instruction. So for today, let us understand up to this point and we shall wait till the next episode to witness whether Draupati came to the courtroom or not! Stay tuned for an important accord!

Episode # 330 – Draupati becomes Duryodhana’s “Daasi” – Vidura cries foul yet again!!!

We’re at the midst of a complete anarchy that is unfolding at Hastinapura, wherein Duryodhana has discarded Vidura’s words of “Dharma” and goes ahead with the illegal gambling game. Yudishtra is made to pay for the “Shabadhams” that he had taken earlier – He wouldn’t hurt anybody by talking in a rude manner. Duryodhana smartly plays to his advantage to humiliate Yudishtra further! He makes Yudishtra stake his four brothers one by one and play – Only to lose all of them! Next in the list and as the final nail in the coffin, Yudishtra is pushed to stake his wife Draupati and play! As the pressure from Duryodhana’s side is stepped up immensely with Sahuni and Karna joining the party, Yudishtra is left with no other option but to go for it! He stakes Draupati and continues the play and here’s the huge stunner – Draupati is lost as well! Now as per the rule of the game, Draupati becomes Duryodhana’s “Daasi” (Servant maid) and she becomes a slave to him! Yudishtra couldn’t believe his eyes! As Duryodhana roars with laughter amidst the shouts of “Jitham”, “Jitham” (Victory), Yudishtra completely succumbs! His entire life is doomed! Twenty-four hours ago, Yudishtra was a great king of the sprawling Indraprastha kingdom, rated one of the best in the entire world, and things have changed dramatically within just one single day!

Upon seeing the dramatic turn of events, Bhishmachaarya is stunned beyond words! Guru Dhronachaarya is completely speechless! Tears roll down the eyes of Sage Kripachaarya! But none of the three had the guts to stand up and protect Draupati or the Paandavas! All the three seniors are just watching the show unfold just like mute spectators to the entire fiasco! On the other hand, Vidura’s blood is boiling and is simmering with anger! He once again gets up angrily and shouts at King Dhridiraashtra now! Till this stage Vidura was requesting with teary eyes to both King Dhridiraashtra and Duryodhana, but both discarded his words of wisdom. Now this is a “do-or-die” situation for King Dhridiraashtra and Vidura decides to take the offensive route. He stands up angrily from his seat and says thus, “Oh King Dhridiraashtra! This Duryodhana is such a thorn in the flesh for this great kingdom, aided by another thorn called Sahuni! You’re letting these thorns rule the roost! Now the situation has become more disastrous! I never expected Duryodhana to have the guts to make Draupati a scapegoat here. He has crossed all limits. Of course, I would have still kept quiet, had he stopped with the abducting of Yudishtra’s kingdom, as still, this was part of the game. However, this is atrocious! Nowhere was it mentioned earlier that this game would go to such disastrous levels wherein a woman would be staked and played! Are you real Kshatriyas or cowards? What is happening right now at Hastinapura would definitely have a long-standing effect on the future of this kingdom! Oh King Dhridiraashtra! Please make note of my words today – For all what is happening today, Hastinapura will pay a heavy price! The kingdom would be doomed completely in the near future! Duryodhana has messed up the entire show! Without even realizing any of these ill-effects, you’re allowing disaster to happen right in front of your eyes! What kind of a king are you? Don’t you know which is “Dharma” and which is “Adharma”? Just because your son Duryodhana has to be secured with a kingdom, would you stoop to such low levels of insulting someone else’s wife? What kind of a logic is this? Do you even have an iota of thought about how the kingdom would perish if such things blatantly happen amidst the courtroom? Let me tell you one thing very clearly – The moment you’ve insulted the woman who has come as the “Kula-Vadhu” (Daughter-in-law), the downfall of your Hastinapura kingdom has begun! From now onwards, the growth of Hastinapura is only southwards and is never going to be northwards at any point of time!”

Shouting on top of his voice thus, Vidura continues further, “Oh King Dhridiraashtra! Even now it is not too late. You can still nullify the entire game with just one word of yours. Please realize that your son has been totally brainwashed by this useless Sahuni and Co.! His jealousy and selfishness know no bounds! You’re just getting carried away by Duryodhana’s blackmailing. Please stop this game now. Please nullify this and let Draupati free from this unnecessary bondage. If this continues any further, things are going to turn extremely disastrous and you’re going to be completely doomed! Please pay heed to my words! Please realize that the dice that Sahuni is rolling each and every time, is nothing but a form of “Yama-Dharma-Raja” who is writing all the accounts of sins on Duryodhana’s name! You’re completely blinded by the “Putra-Vaatsalya” and because of this, you’re not even knowing that you’re singlehandedly spoiling your son’s future! In fact, let me tell you one more thing – The move that Yudishtra made to lose Draupati is a foul move because, Yudishtra has lost himself to Duryodhana as per the game! If one has lost himself, how would he have the eligibility to continue the play henceforth? What right does he have to stake Draupati and play, if he has lost himself? Hence, this move is completely foul and can be totally nullified!” As Vidura pleads and pleads thus, Bhishmachaarya, Guru Dhronaachaarya and Sage Kripachaarya are still silent. They know that Vidura is totally right, but they aren’t able to speak a single word against Duryodhana, just because of the “gratitude” that they had towards him for helping them in the past. Even as Vidura requests the trio to talk, they just act as mute spectators.

Thus, as Vidura expresses himself, the entire courtroom is stunned! Now what is Duryodhana going to do? Is he going to pay heed to Vidura’s words atleast now? Or, is he going to go ahead doing something more disastrous? Let’s wait till the next episode to witness the drama unfold further! Stay tuned!

Episode # 329 – Yudishtra loses Draupati – Duryodhana rejoices!!!

We’re at a very important and a crucial juncture wherein the gambling game is taking a disastrous turn! As the play progresses even after Vidura’s emotional appeal to stop this nonsense from happening any further, Duryodhana stuck to his guns of making Yudishtra pay for what he had “illegally acquired” in the past! Duryodhana’s jealousy knew no bounds as he took step after step in humiliating Yudishtra, without even being aware that all his actions were against the rule of “Dharma”, and that, he is going to pay a heavy price for this later on. Now we’re at a stage wherein Yudishtra has lost his entire wealth, kingdom, servants, army, elephants, horses, lands, gold coins, garlands, etc. After all this, Yudishtra is pushed to stake his four Paandava brothers and play, only to lose them as servants to Duryodhana! As this was going on, Sahuni and Duryodhana instigated Yudishtra to continue the game by staking one brother after the other, which Yudishtra couldn’t deny! Finally, he ends up losing all his four brothers, which came as a rude shock to the Paandava camp. Then came a stage wherein Yudishtra had to stake himself and play, only to lose himself to Duryodhana! This was even more terrible and Yudishtra had to abjectly surrender to the might of the vicious Sahuni-Duryodhana duo. Their plan seemed to be working to perfection, with Yudishtra bearing the brunt of Duryodhana’s arrogance.

Moving on further, as the brothers were lost, Yudishtra now doesn’t know what else to stake and play! As he had lost himself in the run of play, Yudishtra literally had no right to take any decision henceforth! Now Duryodhana had the complete dominating upper hand and the onus now falls on Duryodhana upon deciding who / what to stake and play! Now Duryodhana roars with his instruction to Yudishtra thus, “Oh Yudishtra! Now that you’ve become my servant, obey my words – Why do you think you’re not having anyone else to stake and play? You have your wife Draupati still left, isn’t it? Why don’t you stake her and play? Go for it! Even now I give you my assurance – If you win this time, I shall guarantee that all whatever you’ve lost till now, would come back to your fold! If you win this time around, you would no longer be my servant. Your four brothers would no longer be my servants. I shall give your kingdom back to you! Everything would be yours again if you win this one time!”

As Duryodhana pushes Yudishtra thus, he doesn’t know how to react to this – On one hand, the offer made by Duryodhana is quite tempting and with this, he can seek revenge by obtaining all whatever he had lost. Whereas, on the other hand, his track record is dismal – He hasn’t won even for a single time. If he loses once again, he would have to lose his wife too to Duryodhana and this would become extremely disastrous! What can he do now? Maybe he can create an excuse to save Draupati from this? With this thought in mind, Yudishtra slowly talks to Duryodhana thus, “Oh brother! I can stake Draupati and play. That’s not a problem. But if I lose her, how would I answer my father-in-law? Won’t that be a big tragedy? Please, I request you! Let us not go any further. Let us stop it at this point atleast!”

As Yudishtra meekly makes an appeal of this sort, Duryodhana is not ready to listen to Yudishtra anymore! Karna joins the party as well! Now Karna talks on behalf of Duryodhana rudely thus, “Oh Yudishtra! Whom do you think Duryodhana is? He is the master and you’re after all his servant! Now do as he said, and don’t backanswer him! You have no rights to talk against Duryodhana’s wishes! Hence, stake Draupati and continue playing! If you win, you win everything! If you lose, we shall see what can be done! Continue the game without any hiccups!” As Karna talks harshly, anger starts to simmer amidst the Paandava camp. Bheemasena, Arjuna and the others are boiling with immense frustration, but they are not in a situation currently to open their mouths and talk! Things are too late now! Yudishtra too is clearly agitated with Karna’s words as they were like fuel to a burning fire! Finally, Yudishtra had no other option but to stake Draupati and play!

Now, the crucial time of staking Draupati arrives – As Yudishtra is about to do that, Bhishmachaarya and Guru Dhronachaarya were extremely agitated and scared too! However, none had the courage and guts to open their mouths and talk! King Dhridiraashtra is also a mute spectator to all this. Since he was blind, he could not visibly see what was happening. He is only able to hear heated arguments being exchanged on both sides. Hence, King Dhridiraashtra calls Bhishmachaarya by his side and asks him thus, “Oh Bhishmachaarya! Is the game over? Has Duryodhana won over Draupati? Is it all over? Has my son succeeded in whatever he wanted to do?” These words clearly show how King Dhridiraashtra is extremely one-sided here! Even though he knows that his son is walking the dangerous path of “Adharma”, he encourages his son to take that extreme step! He might be thinking that he and his son are smart enough here, but there is someone called Bhagawan Krishna, who is watching all this clearly from wherever He is! He is noting down every word spoken and every action that is performed at Hastinapura courtroom! Now, King Dhridiraashtra isn’t the silent spectator. Bhagwan Krishna is! He’s going to make all of them pay a heavy price for what they’re doing currently to the Paandavas and Draupati!

As King Dhridiraashtra asks this follow-up question, the dice are rolled! Sahuni has the last say in it! Yudishtra ends up losing Draupati as well! Now everyone is shouting aloud – “Jitham! Jitham”! “Victory to Duryodhana!” Yudishtra is crushed to pieces and is stunned beyond words! He is seeing in front of his eyes, the most unexpected thing in this world! Now Draupati is also lost and Yudishtra is just a nothing entity now! So for today, let us understand up to this point! Let us take a deep breath and try to digest the huge disaster that is currently happening at Hastinapura! But is this over with what had just happened? Or, is there something else that is going to unfold? Let us wait till tomorrow to find out! Stay tuned!

Episode # 328 – Yudishtra loses himself to Duryodhana – Hastinapura inches towards a huge disaster!!!

In the previous episode, we had witnessed Vidura’s words being thrown into the dustbin by Duryodhana and Co. and the gambling game continued further. Even though Vidura tries his level best to somehow put an end to this, Duryodhana is steadfast. He rejects whatever narrative Vidura comes up with. The sole aim of Duryodhana at this point is to somehow win this game and thrash Yudishtra illegally by abducting all his wealth, kingdom, etc. In fact, Duryodhana was successful in doing so even before Vidura started to speak. By the time Vidura got up, Duryodhana had already got Yudishtra’s Indraprastha into his fold, along with his ministers, servants, army, wealth, etc. Even then, Duryodhana isn’t satisfied! He wants to dig the final nail into Yudishtra’s coffin and wants him to stake his brothers and continue the play. As Vidura’s words fail to be heard, the game continues and Yudishtra loses Bheemasena, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva to Duryodhana! Now all four of them become Duryodhana’s servants!

If we look at how Sahuni played the game here, we would be able to learn quite a few important lessons – How not to get carried away by some people’s tricky words! As Yudishtra came to the point of staking his four brothers and playing, first in the list were Nakula and Sahadeva. As Yudishtra thinks for a while whether to stake them, Sahuni quickly intervenes thus, “Oh Yudishtra! Why do you think as if you do not have anything more to stake and play? You have your four brothers who are well-built and strong, isn’t it? You may stake any two of them and continue! You can still win this and if the dice rolls in favor of you this time, I assure you of giving back everything that you’ve lost till now!” These are the “mesmerising” words that we need to be wary about – If we’re entering into a dangerous zone, we shouldn’t get carried away by people who are trying to encourage us to go in further! Our ego would come in the middle and push us to continue our pursuit, but here is where we need to use our sense of discrimination. Yudishtra failed in this aspect and decided to stake both Nakula and Sahadeva! As fate would have it, Sahuni rolls the dice and both of them are lost! The entire courtroom roars with laughter and Duryodhana is all excited and pumped up! Yudishtra is stunned to bits!

Now what does Yudishtra do? As he somehow decides that enough is enough, Sahuni again intervenes and “pinches” Yudishtra’s ego further! He says thus, “Oh Yudishtra! Why are you thinking again? Prepare for the next move! Please don’t come to an early conclusion that you’ve lost everything! You still have the remaining two brothers, don’t you?” Even as Sahuni says thus, Yudishtra calmly replies back, “Oh Uncle! I know that I still have Bheemasena and Arjuna! But somehow I’m not interested to stake them and continue playing further! If I lose them, I’m completely doomed! I can’t take this risk anymore!” As Yudishtra says thus, Sahuni quickly rises to the occasion and hurts his ego further. He says thus, “Oh Yudishtra! You were prepared to stake Nakula and Sahadeva because they were not your mother’s direct sons! However, when it comes to your own brothers, you’re going a step behind! Why is that so? Why do you treat your brothers differently like this? All are equal aren’t they? Hence, go ahead and show that you equally respect all your four brothers! If you stop now, it would be like disrespecting your own brothers!”

As Sahuni says thus, Yudishtra’s ego is completely hurt! He has no other option but to stake Bheemasena and Arjuna and play! He does so, and the dice are rolled! Again, as fate would have it, both were lost to Duryodhana! Again, the entire courtroom roars with laughter! Yudishtra is completely doomed now! But is this all? Duryodhana however doesn’t think so! Upon looking at the helpless Yudishtra, Duryodhana thunders thus, “Oh Yudishtra! Now that you’ve lost everything and everybody, you’re completely cornered! I pity your state now! However, please do not think that the game is over so soon! You can stake yourself and continue to play! If you win this round, I assure you that I will give back everything that you’ve lost so far, including your brothers!” These kind of words are where one needs to be very careful – Just because someone is luring us into danger more and more, we’ve to be extremely careful not to get carried away! But what did Yudishtra end up doing? He got carried away by Duryodhana’s words and stakes himself to continue playing!

Yudishtra declares thus, “Oh Sahuni and Duryodhana! As per your words, I shall now stake myself and continue the play!” Saying thus, Yudishtra goes forward, only for the dice to show up Sahuni’s favourite number! Yudishtra now has lost himself too! Now Yudishtra says thus, “Oh Duryodhana! Now that I’ve lost myself to you, I really don’t have anything else to stake and play! Let’s call this off right away!” As Yudishtra says thus, Duryodhana, Karna, Sahuni, Ducchaasana, etc. roar with laughter and make fun of Yudishtra’s pitiable state! Yudishtra too is completely helpless, as from now, he has to dance to Duryodhana’s tunes! This is a dangerous situation now, and for today, let us understand up to this point! Vidura’s words are coming true left, right and centre, as Hastinapura is moving towards a huge disaster! Now is this the end game for Yudishtra, or is something else awaiting him? Let us wait till the next episode to find out! Stay tuned! 🙂

Episode # 327 – The gambling continues – Yudishtra loses his four Pandava brothers to Duryodhana!!!

In the previous episode, we had witnessed Vidura and Duryodhana having a bitter conversation with each other. As Vidura is highlighting the “Dharma” aspect, Duryodhana highlights his “selfish” aspect and motive behind playing the game of gambling. Duryodhana’s point is very simple – “Dharma” and its allied arguments aren’t going to convince him. He clearly wants short-term goals to be fulfilled. For this, he counters Vidura’s narrative by saying that he’s never interested in Duryodhana’s welfare, and is only interested in Yudishtra’s success. Duryodhana’s jealousy blinds him completely from analyzing the angle from which Vidura is talking. Hence, as Vidura says that Bhagawan Krishna is behind the Paandavas camp and it is He who is aiding them in whatever they do, Duryodhana counters him by saying that, if Bhagawan is responsible for all what is happening in this world, even his actions are the responsibility of Bhagawan Krishna only! Hence, even if he continues playing the gambling game, it is not he who is playing it – It is Bhagawan Krishna who is aiding Duryodhana to play and win it!

This is what happens when we enter into arguments with people who are crooks! They would just try and counter our argument, just with the intention of winning over us. Rather, they would never realize the significance and the meaning that might be behind what we’re trying to explain to them. This is what we call in Tamil popularly as “Vidhandaa-Vaadam”, which means, “Counter-arguments that are totally unproductive). However, what they fail to understand here is that, Bhagawan doesn’t push or pull somebody. He only guides us to walk the safe path. If we go and fall into a pit, Bhagawan will not come and pull us out. Instead, Bhagawan will only guide us the way through which we wouldn’t fall into the pit. It is our prerogative whether to fall into the pit or not. Continuing thus, Vidura counters Duryodhana with a simple question here – “Oh Duryodhana! You are such a fool not to be able to understand even simple aspects of “Dharma” that I’m trying to explain. I do not want to preach “Dharma-Shaastra” to you at this stage. I know that even if I do, you wouldn’t listen to me. Hence, I’m asking you for the last time – Are you going to stop this nonsense or not?” As Vidura angrily asks thus, Duryodhana replied firmly back, “Oh Vidura! Take it from me – This game will proceed, and I would win over Yudishtra and take back my kingdom from him! No matter whatever you say or try to do, I wouldn’t fall for your gimmicks! You can try all these tricks to someone who doesn’t have anything to do in life other than listening to your sermons! Hence, please take your seat and protect your respect in the kingdom!”

As Duryodhana gives a decisive answer thus, Vidura’s pain knew no bounds! The Hastinapura kingdom is moving towards a huge disaster right in front of his eyes! King Dhridiraashtra is silent over this, and so are Bhishmachaarya and Guru Dhronachaarya! Although Sage Kripachaarya is a great sage, he too chose to remain silent! If such is the case, what impact is one person’s argument going to make? Duryodhana instructs Sahuni uncle to continue with the game as Yudishtra doesn’t have a choice but to stake his four brothers and continue the play! The dice were rolled and as usual, it came in favour of Duryodhana, with which Yudishtra lost all his four brothers! From that day onwards, as per the agreement, the Paandavas became the servants of Duryodhana and Co.! As this happens, Yudishtra is stunned beyond words! Vidura couldn’t’ digest what was happening! This is the height of “Adharma”! But is this all? Or, are some more instances going to unfold? Let us find out in tomorrow’s episode! Stay tuned!

Episode # 326 – Duryodhana enters into a bitter argument with Vidura!!!

In the previous episode, we had witnessed Vidura continuing with his important advice to King Dhridiraashtra and the other seniors seated at Hastinapura courtroom to rise up to the occasion and stop the nonsensical Dyutam game that was happening right in front of their eyes. As we’ve witnessed, Sahuni is the mastermind behind this entire event that was conspiring, and Duryodhana is seemingly the “beneficiary” here. Yudishtra on the other hand, is losing one thing after the other and finally he’s now left only with his four brothers to stake and play. It is at this time, Vidura raises his voice amidst the courtroom in public for the first time. He advises King Dhridiraashtra to somehow put an end to this nonsense, even as all the others including Bhishmachaarya and Guru Dhronachaarya were silent and mum. Vidura had the guts to stand by the “Dharma”, even though the wicked Duryodhana was right under his nose. Vidura knows that Duryodhana would give a backlash but he doesn’t care about all that. This is the major difference between Vidura and the others – While Bhishmachaarya and Guru Dhronachaarysa feared Duryodhana’s backlash, Vidura is carefree and still stands by the “Dharma”, even while Duryodhana is looking on! A long accord of advice followed and King Dhridiraashtra has the ball in his court now! He has to make a crucial decision whether to continue with this nonsense, or put an end to it! What is King Dhridiraashtra going to do now, is what all of us are eagerly awaiting to witness!

As Vidura was talking thus for a long time, Duryodhana loses patience at one point! He bursts out with anger and replies to Vidura thus, “Oh Vidura! Please can you stop this? I’ve been observing you right from my childhood days! You have a soft corner for the Paandavas always! You never care about my welfare at all! Even now, at this crucial juncture you’re trying to snatch away my victory and give it to Yudishtra! How unfair this can be?” As Duryodhana replies angrily thus, Vidura replies back to him: “Oh Duryodhana! From all what I’ve said till now, don’t you understand that I’m only talking for your welfare and safety? I’m not concerned about the Paandavas’ welfare! Neither you nor me need to care for them. Bhagawan Krishna is there for them and He would ensure their welfare. All I’m saying here is that you’re moving towards disaster. I’m sending warning signals to you. Please stop this, and please mend your ways. Do not have this jealousy towards Yudishtra for no reason. This is going to push you towards the brink!” For this, Duryodhana now has a smart reply! He says thus, “Oh Vidura! Fine! As per your argument, you’re saying that Bhagawan Krishna would take care of everything in the world including the Paandavas, isn’t it? Let it be! If Bhagawan is protecting Yudishtra and Co., He would protect me too, irrespective of whatever I do! Just like how Yudishtra’s actions are determined by Bhagawan Krishna, my actions and my words are also determined by Him only! Hence, whatever I do and whatever decisions I make, come from Bhagawan Krishna only, and not from myself!”

How smart can one be? On one hand, Vidura is trying to make Duryodhana understand his folly, whereas, on the other hand, Duryodhana is only interested in arguing with Vidura, and is not prepared to learn from Vidura’s advice! Here, we’ve to understand an important point from what Duryodhana is saying – This is quite a common argument that many of us make too. For instance, if a person is walking on the road and let us assume that he is tripping and falling down on the road. When we ask him as to why he fell down, he says, “Oh! Bhagawan Krishna pushed me down! I did not fall on my own! Whatever has to happen, is according to fate, isn’t it? Hence, Bhagawan wanted me to fall down today and hurt myself, and He pushed me down today!” Now how could this be fair? Is it the job of Bhagawan to push people down just like that? We should understand here that Bhagawan neither pushes us down, nor lifts us up! He only shows the way for us to walk properly! If we’re falling down, it is our problem, and not Bhagawan’s! It simply means that we’ve not followed the guidance given by Bhagawan to walk properly!

For instance, there is a fast-flowing river and besides it, there is an announcement board saying that swimming in this river is dangerous for life because of the heavy water current! Now, if we dive into the river on purpose to swim, will the announcement board come and save us if we’re drowning? No, isn’t it? Bhagawan is like this announcement board. He would only render advice at the right time. It is we who’ve to capture the right advice and follow it in the proper way. If we deviate from the path, Bhagawan wouldn’t come and push us down or lift us up! It is we who have to bear all the pain of falling down and getting up! This is one important point that all of us should understand. This is exactly the same mistake that Duryodhana is doing – He doesn’t want to take any responsibility for all the bad things that he’s doing. Instead, he’s trying to take Vidura’s advice selectively for his own benefit and “pass the buck” on to Bhagawan Krishna for all that he’s trying to do! Now, how fair could this be? Readers should ponder over this important point.

So for today, let us understand this, and we shall wait for the next episode to continue this discussion further! Stay tuned! 🙂

Episode # 325 – King Dhridirashtra & Duryodhana fail to understand Vidura – The “MAHATMA”!!!

We’re amidst an important turn of events wherein the gambling game (Dyutam) is gaining momentum and heat. It is slowly starting to favour Duryodhana and Co. – Courtesy, Sahuni’s vicious methodology of rolling the dice. Yudishtra is on a continuous losing streak as he has now lost his entire kingdom of Indraprastha, along with his servants, his ministers, key administrators, elephants, horses, army cavalry, gold and other important treasury. Now he is left with nothing more with regards to his kingdom and wealth to stake and play. As Duryodhana is pressurising Yudishtra and luring him to continue playing further, Yudishtra looks around himself, only to find his four brothers standing! As he was about to stake his four brothers and play the game further, Vidura intervenes and thunders amidst the entire courtroom with his emotional appeal! He explains how this “Dyutham” game has already started to push Hastinapura and Duryodhana into a huge disaster and even now it is not too late – If this game is stopped right away, many lives could be saved and the Hastinapura kingdom wouldn’t lose its prosperity and good leadership. He urges King Dhridiraashtra to act immediately and put an end to this nonsense that is taking place.

From Vidura’s accord, what we’ve to understand is that, if “Dharma” is under a huge threat, we’ve to put “Dharma” first in our priority list, rather than people. This is where King Dhridiraashtra is making a mistake – He’s putting his son on top priority and doesn’t care about the fact that “Dharma” is compromised. However, Vidura is putting his best foot forward to make King Dhridiraashtra understand this – At a time when other senior people in the courtroom like Bhishmachaarya, Guru Dhronachaarya and Sage Kripachaarya chose to remain silent, even though they knew that Duryodhana is walking the path of disaster! Thus, Vidura is the only man with enormous courage to stand up and talk for “Dharma”. He now tries to make King Dhridiraashtra understand this fact in a different way. He now invokes the “Atman” and the “Deham” concepts to explain his point.

Vidura continues thus, “Oh King Dhridiraashtra! Please look at this – There is a clear difference between the “Atman” and the “Deham” isn’t it? The “Atman” is a permanent entity and the “Deham” is a temporary entity and is subject to destruction in the near future! Your son is going behind money, wealth, property, luxuries, kingdom, etc. which are all subject to destruction at some day or the other. All these things pertain to the “Deha-Soukhyam”. Whereas, he is missing the “Atma-Soukhyam” by going behind the useless “Deha-Soukhyam”. Even now it is not too late. Please mend your son’s ways and turn his focus towards the “Atma-Soukhyam” which is the permanent entity and which ultimately takes us to “Moksha”. Going behind “Deha-Soukhyam” will only induce you to commit more and more sinful activities, which would ultimately take us towards the “Naraka-Lokha”! Oh King Dhridiraashra! While you’re able to see the victory of Duryodhana at this moment with regards to the kingdom, luxuries, etc., I’m seeing the long-term downfall of Duryodhana because he’s winning this illegal game today! You’re not able to differentiate between “Dharma” and “Adharma” at this stage, because you’re blinded by your son’s temporary victory! Please understand – The path of “Dharma” is treacherous and ambiguous. It might be difficult to traverse initially. But in the long term, “Dharma” would give you the ultimate happiness! Whereas, the path of “Adharma” might be very lucrative in the beginning, but ultimately it would lead you into a huge disaster! Hence, King Dhridiraashtra! Please wake up from your slumber and stop this from happening further!”

In fact, this is a big problem with “Dharma” – It will always be hidden and would seem to be very difficult to follow. This is Bhagawan’s trick for all of us. He would always ensure that “Dharma” is hidden inside like a treasure! It is we who have to take the proactive step forward to realize this, and explore the path of “Dharma” with our sense of “Discrimination”. Of course, Bhagawan has given us the path of “Dharma” (Hidden), but He has also gifted us with a sensible mind (Sixth sense) with which we can find out the path. Thus, whose responsibility is it to find out the right path and follow it? The onus is ours, isn’t it? This is exactly what Vidura is trying to explain here – Following the path of “Dharma” might be difficult and the happiness might be hidden. However, if we meticulously take efforts and try to follow it, we would definitely obtain unending happiness and satisfaction!

Here, we might ask a question – Why is Bhagawan Krishna not intervening at this crucial juncture and talking to King Dhridiraashtra and Duryodhana? Bhagawan could have directly done the talking and perhaps both of them might have listened to Bhagawan’s words, isn’t it? If we ask this question to Bhagawan Krishna, what would be His reply? He would immediately tell us thus: “Oh! This is why I had sent Vidura to talk on behalf of me! Vidura is an embodiment of “Dharma” and a “Mahatma”, isn’t it? Everytime, it is not necessary for me to come and intervene! At appropriate times, I would send key people (Mahatmas) to try and advise you in the right way! This is where I had sent Vidura! Sadly, nobody listened to Vidura’s words, and it is whose problem?”

Thus, the important point that all of us should understand from today’s accord is that, we should always listen to and obey the words of “Mahatmas” and “Sadhgurus”, because they are the direct messengers of Bhagawan. In other words, Bhagawan has sent them to us, so that we would get an opportunity to understand “Dharma”. It is not necessary that Bhagawan would always keep coming and going from Vaikunta every now and then. If He does so, nobody would give any sort of respect to Him, isn’t it? Only if He incarnates rarely once in a Yuga, we would also give some sort of a respect to Bhagawan! 🙂 However, just because Bhagawan doesn’t incarnate often, does that mean that “Dharma” would come to a standstill? Not at all! Thus, in order to ensure that “Dharma” is alive and has to be propagated, Bhagawan sends some important “Gurus” and “Mahatmas” time and again, so that ordinary people like us are enlightened with the significance of “Dharma” and we try and make atleast some baby steps to follow it. So for today, let us understand the importance of what Vidura is saying here, and in the next episode, we shall witness whether King Dhridiraashtra and Duryodhana are going to accept Vidura’s words and stop the game at this point! Stay tuned for an interesting accord! 🙂
