In the previous episode, we had witnessed the continuation of Sage Markandeya’s narrative to Yudishtra on how Bhagawan Rama and Mother Sita had to endure enormous suffering during their “Vana-Vasam” time. In this way, we had witnessed the Vaanaras along with Bhagawan Rama and Lakshmana entering into Lanka city through the “Ram-Sethu” bridge. As this happens, Ravana too gets ready for the battle and sends all his people one after the other. Meanwhile, as Vibhishana has joined Bhagawan Rama and Lakshmana, he also helps in strategizing the war against Ravana. Battle after battle takes place every subsequent day and crores and crores of people lose their lives. In this way, Kumbhakarna, Indrajith and all the frontline warriors lose their lives one after the other, unable to withstand the prowess of Bhagawan Rama, Lakshmana, Sugriva and Hanuman. Finally, Ravana decides that it is none other than himself who has to take on Bhagawan Rama. Hence, Ravana comes with a huge army to attack Bhagawan Rama. Now it is a direct one-on-one battle between the two of them. A fierce battle commences and both are equally powerful. Finally after a long fight, Bhagawan Rama reduces Ravana to nothing! Ravana is now without any weapon in hand and with this, Bhagawan Rama calls off the battle for the day. He asks Ravana to re-equip himself the next day and come back to fight.
Subsequently, Ravana comes again with a new vigor. A marquee battle ensures and at one point, as Ravana directs his anger and frustration towards Hanuman with powerful blows, Bhagawan Rama’s real anger comes out! Till the time Ravana was attacking Him, Bhagawan Rama never got angry, however, when Ravana attacked Hanuman, who is His ardent devotee, Bhagawan Rama decides that it is now or never for Ravana! His real anger and valor comes out and the war intensifies to an unprecedented level! Finally, unable to withstand Bhagawan Rama’s fury, Ravana falls on the ground powerless! At this time, as Ravana is about to breathe his last, Bhagawan Rama calls Vibhishana to go to Ravana and learn some important aspects of the “Raaja-Dharma” from him. It should be noted here that even though Ravana was wicked by nature, he was a great scholar and an extremely intelligent king. Thus, Bhagawan Rama ensures that Ravana’s intelligence doesn’t go waste and asks Vibhishana to learn from him. Thus, as this happens, Ravana finally breathes his last! Bhagawan Rama has finally succeeded against Ravana and with this, the entire set of Devas shower flower petals upon Him!
As Bhagawan Rama emerges victorious, it is now time to convey the good news to Mother Sita. Thus, Bhagawan Rama once again sends Hanuman to convey this to her. Accordingly, Hanuman comes to the “Ashoka Vanam” and formally announces Bhagawan Rama’s victory to Mother Sita. As Hanuman explains the whole accord, Mother Sita is extremely happy and excited to see her victorious husband. Also, Hanuman formally brings Mother Sita out of imprisonment and requests her to get ready to see Bhagawan Rama. So for today, let us join hands with Hanuman and Mother Sita to celebrate Bhagawan Rama’s victory against Ravana and Co. and we shall wait till the next episode to witness what unfolded next for Mother Sita! Stay tuned! 🙂
