In the previous episode, we had witnessed Bhagawan Bala-Krishna killing the next Raakshasa, Dhenuka. As Bhagawan Bala-Krishna was growing up, He was increasing in popularity and was taking everybody in awe. Unable to bear this meteoric rise of this child, Kamsa was fuming. Moreover, Kamsa knew that he is just letting his enemy grow from power to power. He had to somehow take control of the situation before it became too late for him. Thus, he first sends Dhenuka to finish Bhagawan Bala-Krishna. However, as we’ve witnessed yesterday, Dhenuka wasn’t able to bear Bhagawan’s “Chakra-Aayudha” (The divine Chakra). The “Chakra-Aayudha” was way too powerful for Dhenuka and ultimately he was killed by it.
Unable to bear the news that Dhenuka was killed, Kamsa turned up for another plan. He has so far lost Poothana, Chakataasura and now Dhenuka. What does he do now? He turns to the next person in the list – Pralambasura. Now what is this Pralambasura going to do? He came to Gokula with a fearful human form, very similar to Dhenuka. He tried to scare off everyone with his fearful form, but not Bhagawan Bala-Krishna. He was steadfast towards Pralambasura and opposed him straightaway. As the fight grew fierce by the moment, Pralambasura was at the receiving end and eventually was killed by Bhagawan Bala-Krishna. This sent severe shockwaves to Kamsa, who was grossly underestimating his enemy till now.
As this was happening at Gokula, wherein Bhagawan Bala-Krishna was neutralizing enemy after enemy, all the Devas were watching keenly. On one hand they were overwhelmed with happiness as Bhagawan was finally beginning to put an end to the atrocities of the Raakshasas, whereas on the other hand there was one person who was starting to feel jealous of what was happening. This person was none other than Indra himself. As we know, Indra is the leader of the Devas. As Bhagawan Bala-Krishna was destroying Raakshasa after Raakshasa, Indra was having a feeling with himself that as all the Raakshasas are getting destroyed, his position as the leader of Devas is getting threatened. Maybe Bhagawan Bala-Krishna might claim this position next by defeating Indra? Is this Bhagawan Bala-Krishna’s next agenda on the cards? These were the thoughts that were running in Indra’s mind.
This is not the first time Indra is having such thoughts of insecurity. We’ve seen in the past as well in many instances wherein Indra was marred with such insecure thoughts of losing his position to someone else. Even when the divine “Amrit” was being distributed by Bhagawan Vishnu, we had witnessed how Indra was feeling insecure and was extremely concerned whether he would get his share of the “Amrit” or not. Same is the case here too. Thus, with this insecure feeling, Indra was spending day after day with a lot of uneasiness. This is the time when Bhagawan Bala-Krishna decided to teach Indra a lesson for his high level of jealousy and insecurity.
There was a practice in Gokula village of offering food to Indra from each and every home. This is often referred to as the “Anna-Koota Utsava”. This happens when the season changes from one to the other. As this day was fast approaching, the entire Gokula village was in a big festive mood. There was food preparation going on at every home in Gokula on a grand scale, like never before. Upon seeing this, Bhagawan Bala-Krishna was overwhelmed with joy. He runs to His mother and asks why is all this being done. Mother Yashoda replies to her darling son thus, “Oh Krishna! Today is a very auspicious day wherein the season changes from one to the other. We’re now moving from the summer to the rainy season. Thus, to welcome the new season, the usual practice here at Gokula is to offer mass food to Indra as a token of gratitude for all what he has given to us! This is why there is mass food preparation at every home in Gokula”.
Upon listening to this from His mother, Bhagawan Bala-Krishna was amused! He was thinking within Himself thus, “Oh wow! Look at the wrath of this Indra! How has he brainwashed people in such a way that he projects himself as the supreme lord of this whole world! Who is the lord here? Myself or Indra? Fine! Let me teach this Indra a lesson today! Let me show Indra his place! This much arrogance and insecurity is not good for this Indra as he thinks too much about himself!” Deciding thus, Bhagawan Bala-Krishna decides to “irritate” Indra and see what his reaction is going to be.
Now what is Bhagawan Bala-Krishna going to do which is going to irritate Indra? An absorbing episode awaits us tomorrow! Stay tuned! 🙂
