In the previous episode, we had been witnessing a very important conversation that is going on between Sage Vyaasa and King Dhritarashtra, wherein Sage Vyaasa wants to provide a divine pair of eyes to King Dhritarashtra to see the war. However, King Dhritarashtra rejects that offer and explains to Sage Vyaasa that he doesn’t want to witness his own people dying in the battlefield. Moreover, King Dhritarashtra is very particular that let Sanjaya take the lead in viewing the war with the divine pair of eyes already gifted to him earlier by Sage Vyaasa and Sanjaya would update him periodically. Also, we’ve witnessed Sage Vyaasa explaining how the planetary positions and the astrological predictions together point out towards a major destruction within the next few days. Sage Vyaasa clearly explains that it is not only the Kaurava army which is going to face destruction, but the Paandava army as well!
Hence, as we’re witnessing Sage Vyaasa explaining this, we can understand one thing very clearly here – This is not an ordinary war wherein one camp will win with minimal damage and it would inflict heavy damage on the other camp. This is a war wherein both rival camps will face colossal destruction. The Paandava army will also see heavy destruction, which would be quite similar to that of the Kaurava army. Sage Vyaasa explains this, even as King Dhritarashtra knows that destruction is inevitable for his son Duryodhana and Co. In fact, King Dhritarashtra himself says that he doesn’t want to view the proceedings of the war, only because he knows that this is going to be a war full of destruction! Nobody is really going to be able to claim victory at the end of it! This is purely the divine “Sankalpa” (Divine Will) of Bhagawan Krishna wherein, He has decided to destroy all the evil forces on the Kurukshetra battlefield. When we say “evil forces”, we should not mistake that the Kaurava army is the one which has all the evil forces in it. We should understand here that the Paandava army also has evil forces in it, which has walked the path of “Adharma” earlier and Bhagawan Krishna is going to ensure the destruction of those people as well! Hence, end of the day if we’ve to analyze the result of this war, it is going to be “nothing” in terms of gain or loss pertaining to one particular army. The result of the war is going to be the victory of “Dharma” over “Adharma”, and for this, countless numbers of people are going to lose their lives.
Concluding his accord thus, Sage Vyaasa is now about to leave Hastinapura and at this point, King Dhritarashtra asks Sanjaya a very important question. King Dhritarashtra asks thus, “Oh Sanjaya! You’re able to see the happenings at Kurukshetra, aren’t you? I’ve been hearing that people have come from various territories across our Bhaarata Desha to fight this war. So tell me – Which are those territories from where people have come? What are the characteristics of those territories? What are the precise geographical locations of these territories? Please tell me in detail!” As King Dhritarashtra asks thus, Sanjaya is going to give a detailed accord with various interesting details pertaining to this regard. We shall commence this important discussion in the next episode! Stay tuned! 🙂
